Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a used 1974 Triumph TR5MX. This is the same bike as a 1972 and 1973 BSA B50MX. I have had the bike for four years, I acquired from a yard sale in a sad condition. Everything was locked up: wheels, fork, and engine. So the tear down and rebuilding began. Here is a partial list of all new parts bought from British Only Motorcycles & Parts out of Garden City MI: All engine bearings and seals, trans bearings, wheel bearings, swingarm bearings, neck bearings, handlebars, swingarm shaft and all related parts, spokes, control cables, engine gaskets, engine valves, front rim, rear rim (Jones), seat skin, all electrical components, front stainless fender, front chain sprocket, piston and rings, front fork seals and boots, muffler, ex pipe, and rear shocks. New Parts bought elsewhere: chain, seat foam and professional recovering, Bridgestone Trail Wing tires (Front - TW301 3.00-21, Rear - TW302 4.60 - 18). New cylinder liner installed by Stan Millard in Janesville, WI (recommended by the B50 org (www.b50.org) Cylinder honed to size by my local Harley dealer. Number sideplates are included. They are in good shape, no cracks. See photo. They are not installed on bike so you can see electrical components. Over $2,300 invested in parts. Includes BSA B50MX Owner's handbook, BSA B50MX parts catalog, all receipts, all old parts (if you want them. Bike has spark and compression, but is not running. I have simply ran out of time on this project and have other bikes waiting to get to. I have hundreds of pictures of all progression from tear down to rebuilding, step by step. No title. Feel free to contact me with any questions at all. I will help any way I can in arranging shipping for buyer. Paypal deposit of $500 required within 48 hours of winning bid. Cashier's check or money order required within 10 days of winning bid. ANY OVERSEAS BIDDERS CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING! Thank you, On Aug-29-10 at 15:37:35 PDT, seller added the following information: I added photos of the number plates. There are some minor cracks. On Aug-30-10 at 15:35:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to all of the emails I have been getting from knowledgeable B50 enthusiasts. Here is more information about this model. I was told it was a 1974 when I acquired the bike. Fact of the matter is BSA made these bikes from 1971 to 1973. The leftover units had triumph tanks installed. So by this information, this bike is a 1973 I guess. It is not my intention to mislead anyone, I simply took the word of the person I received the bike from. Regardless, thanks again for the emails asking for more details. I will post any other information if I receive any more. Thanks.
