Vehicle Detail

For sale: My 1972 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I. Brewster Green with tan hides. Right hand drive. Very nice original 95,000 mile car. Known history from new. Unique, specially ordered features requested by it's influential original owner include: Opening front vent windows (which had been discontinued several years earlier), front seats mounted 2" further back (extremely nice for tall drivers – like myself at 6’4”), chrome "GB" letters for continental touring, and Lucas wing mirrors. All these and other specifications are confirmed in the factory build sheets which have been obtained from the RREC in England. The first owner was Colonel Denis B. Brown, T.D., O.St.J, of Her Majesty's Royal Field Artillery (Ret.) and Chairman of the Board of H.L. Brown & Son, Ltd., Jewelers to His Grace the Duke of Norfolk, and His Grace The Duke of Devonshire. Written correspondence with H.L. Brown & Sons confirming these facts (that were originally supplied by the RREC) are included with the car. My car is complete with the original “Dagenite” battery cover in trunk, leather bound owner's manual, complete tool kit with case, and complete jack bag with large tools and tire irons. I will ship the leather handbook, small tool kit and all factory paperwork (with a color photo copy of the clear title) – separately via 2nd day confirmed delivery – domestic or international - to the new owner at my expense, as these items have become valuable and have a habit of "disappearing" from these cars in transit. You will notice the car has a good stance and is not "drooping" at the rear, indicating that the hydraulic self-leveling is working fine. The hydraulic braking system has routinely been flushed and refilled with Castrol RR383 as per factory instructions. I have extra fluid I can supply with the car – as only this fluid can be used. My wife and I used this car extensively on the west coast and in Arizona, and brought it back to Illinois with us. It has never seen rain or snow - at least not in the last 30 years. It also benefits from a recent complete tune up and engine detailing using all Rolls-Royce/Bentley Crewe original parts - for which I will provide receipts. Stainless trim and chrome are in near concours condition, upholstery and woodwork are in very presentable condition with no tears or cracks, and the original paint is well polished and glossy. The factory radio works, and the Michelin radials have excellent tread. All power windows and seats work (the right rear window is getting a little slow) and the A/C doesn't blow very cold (in my opinion) - but we only take it out on perfect antique car days now anyway. I can help coordinate shipping. I will also continue to store and insure the car in my personal garage until you or your agents can come and collect her. I realize this right-hand-drive Shadow may have more appeal to U.K. or possibly Australian or New Zealand buyers, and I can store the car for longer periods to assist international shipping if needs be, once payment in full is received. Payment: An intial Paypal Payment of $500 is due immediately after the winning bid. For the balance of the winning bid, I will only accept International wires, cashier's checks drawn on nationally known U.S. Banks, or wire transfers from U.S. nationally known banks. No cash. Vehicle and clear title will only be released ten business days from receipt of payment in full. I am a retired commercial banker and I have seen every form of fraud, so no scammers please. Any questions whatsoever, please call Tom @ 815 382 8334.On Aug-30-10 at 20:55:08 PDT, seller added the following information:Several people have requested additional photos of the interior and exterior. I believe I am at my limit for posting photos to the listing within Ebay, but I have recently taken an additional 75 photos showing interior, exterior, close ups of chrome and trim, leather and woodwork - as well as under-chassis photos and service paperwork with a history file from the Rolls-Royce Enthusiast's Club in England - which I will happily forward to any other interested parties. This is a very nice car in reliable and enjoyable mechanical condition. It is not perfect, but could easily be made so. We safely and routinely drive it on weekends and enjoy it immensely. It is also far easier to maintain than it's Left-Hand drive U.S. market versions, as it has no factory emmission equipment making it probably the last Rolls-Royce that can be maintained by a reasonably mechanically inclined home-enthusiast. We are selling only to fund the purchase of an MGA Twin-Cam, as that is the car my wife has always wanted and we now have an opportunity to aquire one. Thank you for looking, and please call with any questions (815) 382 8334, or email me directly to recieve copious amounts of photos: chassis0251@yahoo.com - Sincerely, Tom
