Vehicle Detail

She's gotta go! Last year for the big 2-doors, one 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Coupe d'Elegance. Engine runs great, fires right up; one of the smoothest 4100's I've seen. Firm suspension and good brakes, too. No front end slop. New exhaust from cat-back. Repainted in original Cotillion White a couple years ago but clear coat is starting to peel on roof and fade on hood. Easy enough fix being flat panels and white. Vinyl top was also replaced at that time but is showing fine cracking along rear bottom edge (good 5 footer). Interior is near mint blue velour. Headliner is tight and intact, not drooping. Door panels are in great shape, no cracks. The chrome is excellent and the stainless rockers are not dinged or tarred up. Rear filler under the gas door has cracked up but an ABS replacement is included. All the instruments are in good shape and work well including the MPG Sentinel and digital Climate Control but AC could use a charge. Previous owner replaced the center bezel allowing for a double-DIN radio without hacking the dash. The doors close solidly; no rattles and the bottoms are solid. The leather wheel is in good shape with some discoloration along the top but overall I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Front glass has a crack but shares its windshield with any of the B-bodies. The issue that forces the starting price this low is that it has a 1-2 trans hesitation. She pulls fine from a stop but you have to lift your foot and she'll then slide into 2nd. No problem from 2-3-4. This is NOT a project car but a 25 year old classic that has her share of small blemishes and wouldn't take a lot to be a great cruiser, she just needs some TLC- we're talking "beater" money here. Drop in a stock Chevy 350 or build up a Cad 500 and throw a THM400 behind it for the ultimate sleeper. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Due to age, selling the vehicle as-is, no warranty implied. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. Thanks for looking!
