For sale is my 1992 GMC Typhoon. This is a limited production vehicle that was made by GMC in 1992 and 1993. There were only 4700 ever made and now there are now considerably less on the road making it a collector's vehicle. It is powered by a 280 HP, 4.3 V6 engine that is turbo charged and intercooled. The truck is all wheel drive enabling a 0-60 mph time in 4.6 seconds and a sub 14 second 1/4 mile. Overall the truck is in good condition. It has 108,900 miles and the engine and automatic transmission work flawlessly. There are no problems with the turbo, it builds boost quickly. The truck is fully loaded with cold AC, power windows, door locks and mirrors, cruise control, perfect black leather seats, Pioneer CD player and a dealer installed sunroof that does not leak. Everything works as it should! Oil changes at 3,500 miles with Mobil 1. Within the last 3 months the following has been done to the truck, new Falken tires, new NGK spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, new heater core, new battery, new throttle position sensor, new rear wheel cylinders and brakes, new front brakes, new master cylinder, new front shocks and a new alarm system. The truck was recently painted with Dupont base and clear. Included with the auction will be new Typhoon decals which I have yet to put on. The truck is stock except for a Kenne Bell cold air intake and an ATR cat back exhaust. The exhaust sounds great! It is not overbearing in anyway and it does not drone on the highway. I have not beat on this truck at all. My wife says I drive like an old man and the previous owner was 64 years old. That being said here are the things you might want to address: The stock wheels need to be refinished, they are straight but they look weathered and the clear coat is starting to peal. There is a small crack on the rear driver side corner cladding. I had a body shop repair it but to be honest they didn't do that good of a job as you can see in the pictures. The truck spent part of it's life in Ohio so there is surface rust on the frame. It is only on the surface and does not affect the integrity of the frame in anyway. The drivers side fender needs to be adjusted because it rubs the door once in a while. There are some small dings and chips in the paint like any daily driver has. The bottom outer window sill on the drivers side is old and starting to crack. It's a $25.00 part from LMC Truck Parts. I have tried to be as upfront and honest as possible to avoid any suprises. None of these things affect the reliablility of the truck at all! Like I have said overall the truck is in good condition. It is not a perfect show truck and I'm not trying to pass it off as one. Make no mistake about it this truck is still in good condition and is very reliable. At 18 years old it is still a head turner! I just took it on a 400 mile trip and it ran flawlessly. KBB values this truck between $9,800 and $11,500 depending on condition, my reserve is set well below the minimum value. This truck is worth a lot more than the price I set for the reserve.
