1964 Chevrolet Corvette L84 Fuel-Injected Convertible This is a NO RESERVE auction for a very nice example of an ultra-rare, numbers-matching, fuel-injected 1964 Corvette convertible. Treated to a recent, "sympathetic" frame-off restoration by its previous caretaker, this beautiful "fuelie" has fresh consumables (brakes, lines, bushings, body mounts, fuel tank, battery), but retains all of its original numbers-matching running gear. The close-ratio M20 4-speed transmission and the 3.70 positraction rear-end have been freshened, while the original RF-code L84 327in/375hp engine runs (and obviously sounds) great. The original code 923 Riverside Red has been reapplied in PPG basecoat/clearcoat; as the pictures make clear, it shows and shines spectacularly. All of the factory bonding strips are in place except for the right rear which was long ago lightly damaged when a knock-off came loose (story confirmed to be true by marks on inside of right rear knock-off). The code 898 Saddle Leather interior is all original (save for the carpet and the trim strip behind the seats), and absolutely perfect. In addition to the very rare Saddle Tan leather interior and soft top, this 1964 "fuelie" rides on ORIGINAL Kelsey-Hayes knockoffs; NOT the replica knockoffs that adorn 99+% of mid-year Corvettes! The original jack and knockoff hammer are present and included. New bias-ply BFGoodrich Silvertowns are at all four corners as well as the spare. The original Rochester fuel-injection (7017380) and distributor (1111070) have been professionally restored and calibrated by the Rochester injection gurus at John's Fuel Injection (www.johnsfi.com, 562/633-8060). This car retains its ORIGINAL steel s-tube and air cleaner assembly. Recently serviced and inspected by Corvette Connection (www.corvetteconnection.net, 262/781-2166).
