Normal 0 2004 Ford F250 Turbo Diesel Crew Cab Up for consideration is my 2004 Ford F250 XLT Super Duty Crew Cab pickup. It has the highly sought after super powerful and super fuel efficient 6.0 Powersroke Turbo Diesel engine that absolutely runs like new. I've had several diesels in my life (Mercedes, Volvos, Ford 7.2L), but I've never had anything that performs like this one. This truck has never been chipped, re-tuned or modified in any way to ramp up its performance... it runs just the way the Ford engineering team designed it to run, and I must tell you, they sure got it right. Last year on a road trip to Virginia, I averaged 22.9 mpg just idling down the road at 55mph and the engine was only pulling around 1250 rpms. This good of mileage may not be typical for the average driver, but I have a light foot. Even in the mountains of South East Tennessee, I average around 17 mpg in town driving. For an engine that boasts over 300hp and can do 0-100 quicker than you blink, you'd be hard pressed to find this kind of economy in a compact 4 cyl. truck or this kind of performance from a sports car weighing 1/3 what this does. I've read that if the engine governors were disabled, this thing could rocket down the road at 140 mph. Talk about raw pulling power... if you could keep the tires stuck to the ground, you could literally pull a house from it's foundation. Yes, yes I know this truck has a lot of miles on it, but don't let that scare you. I bought this beauty from its original owner two years ago when it had 215k miles on it. He lived in North Carolina and was an over-the-road salesman who traveled the southeastern United States. He literally lived on the road and all of the miles are interstate miles which he racked up in under three years, and from the like-new condition of this truck, it shows hardly any wear. This truck needs nothing, has absolutely no mechanical issues, and every whistle and bell works as it should. The AC blows ice cold, the engine purrs like a kitten, and the tranny shifts strong and smooth. I drove it all last winter and she started right up on the coldest of mornings. Cosmetically, she looks wonderful. There are some rock pits in the paint on the front bumper, and there is a small ding on the rear bumper and some scratches on the rubber boot by the ball on the hitch, but that's about it. If you want a perfect truck, pay the $50,000 and get a new one. But if you want one of the nicest trucks you'll find for the mileage she has, then this is the truck for you. I never knew a diesel engine could be so clean either. It doesn't use one drop of any fluids, nor does it leak a drop of anything, and even at oil change time the oil is almost crystal clear. I'm used to old diesel oil being as black as coal and staining you hands like Indian ink... but not so with this one. And there's peace of mind in knowing that it's made to last... cast iron heads (I think each head weighs 190 lbs), and cast iron block... with proper care and maintenance on an engine that's been treated as gently as this one has, you should get up towards 500k or more before there's any kind of failure. This truck has never been abused, run hard, or torqued down with heavy loads... although it's built to handle it. I have a neighbor who has an old Ford diesel and he has nearly a million miles on his. I wouldn't hesitate to get in this truck and drive ANYWHERE!
