Up for auction is a 1967.5 Datsun Roadster 1600 to 2000 restoration project. The 1600 is a running, daily driver car. It just needs a new exhaust header, the clamp that holds the header to the exhaust pipe is worn out, and it is leaking. Electronic ignition installed. Newer rebuilt SU carburators installed. New short shifter installed on the 4 speed transmission. Cored out 2000 radiator installed. There is rust on the body under the paint, on the rocker panels and the front and rear fenders. Typical for the Datsun Roadsters. The body is not in perfect condition, but the paint is only a year old. All gauges work and interior is pretty clean. New heater core installed. New Pioneer stereo and Infinity speakers installed. Funtioning fog lights. All chrome is mounted on car and is in great condition. Seats have seat covers, but need to be re-upholstered. Seat belts are functional as well as the luggage straps. Newer tires and newer brakes.KYB shocks installed on front, and air shocks installed in rear for adjustable ride height. Car has convertable top with zipout and a dual porthole hardtop in decent condition as well. Spare tire and original jack included as well. The 2000 is in a frame only state. The title is clear, and the Vin number on the car is SRL311-02110. The frame number looks like it is SRL311-01245, but it is not stamped clearly.My plan was to restore the frame, suspension, engine, transmission and rear end, and then migrate the 1600 body onto the 2000 frame. There is a little rust on the frame that will need to be repaired after sand blasting. Rear end assembly has been rebuilt with all new bearings, seals and gaskets; brakes and drums turned. The 135hp 2000cc U20 Single overhead cam, 2L, 4 Cyl engine is complete with twin SU carbutators, intake, water pump, air pump and ready for rebuild. The engine number is U20-05348. The 2000 radiator is currently mounted and functioning in the 1600. The 5 speed transmission has been disassembled, and cleaned. It just needs new bands installed and be put back together. Comes with a new clutch and pressure plate. Many additional parts and duplicate parts included; Fuel tank, extra set of axles, extra rear end housing, 4 speed transmission parts etc. The car is being sold as-is.
