Vehicle Detail

Beautiful older restore 1948 Chevrolet 1-1/2 Ton truck converted to 12 volt system with newer 235 cu in 6 cylinder engine (ignition switch start), 4 speed floor-shift manual transmission, 2 speed rear end. Factory PTO in-cab control for raising and lowering hydraulic operated 13' steel bed with removable wood side rails. Clear North Carolina title in my name, licensed, insured, and running. This is a solid and reliable driver truck that can easily be restored to show condition, or enjoyed as a parade and hayride truck as-is. Strong engine, transmission, clutch, brakes, exhaust system, cooling system & heater, electrical, mechanical, gauges, accessories, and body. No rust issues. This truck is a real work truck and a recreational vehicle that just happens to be 62 years old. Originally a farm truck from Kansas, it is now used as a work truck, hay ride and parade truck, and a fun weekend ride to the Dairy Whip. New front tires, wheels and exhaust system 3 years ago. Strong 235 cu in 6 cylinder engine runs great. Hydraulic lift is a zero-maintenance dream. In-cab controls to easily raise and lower bed. All lights operate, including turn signals, brake lights, high-beam headlights, marker lights, etc. Aftermarket tachometer and am/fm radio added. Issues: non-standard horn button, (horn works LOUD!) gas gauge inoperative, wipers inoperative (wiper motor probably needs a rebuild), glove box opens stiffly but works OK, about a square foot of paint on top of the cab has been rubbed off and needs a touchup (now protected with a pretty sloppy coat of primer -I'm no artist!), and rear tires are usable but worn. A fun truck to drive and enjoy right now as it is, as soon as you take delivery. Or really clean it up and detail it and own a beautiful vintage truck for show. Deposit of $400.00 required by PayPal within 48 hours of auction end (or you may mail a check or money order within 48 hours). Balance due at time of pickup in cash or certified check, or beforehand if paying by personal check or require a longer time for pickup - arrangements will be confirmed at auction end. Buyer is responsible for pickup or transport, and I will assist any way I can.On Aug-20-10 at 07:02:23 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE PRICE IS BEING LOWERED. THIS TRUCK WILL BE SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. GOOD LUCK!On Aug-20-10 at 13:21:06 PDT, seller added the following information:The engine idles great, and I took her out to test the top end for the eBayer asking about his 300 mile trip and I discovered the engine misses a bit at top end. This could be old gas or the need for a fresh fuel-line filter or tune-up or who knows even a fuel pump (easy and cheap replacement on these in-line 6 cylinder engines. Anyway, just wanted everyone to know this discovery. Truck runs great around town.
