This car was purchased at the City of Chicago Police Impound. You are buying this vehicle “as is”, just as I purchased it. Often times these vehicles only need minor repairs or body work; they have not been wrecked. My name is Doug Palmer. I own a large salvage car dealership. I have over 100 cars in inventory. If you have any questions feel free to call me. All of these vehicles come with an Illinois salvage title. They are salvage because they are police impounds. To operate these vehicles on public highways, you go through your state’s salvage laws and re-title them under your state. That is where prior salvage title comes into play. Then, they become a prior salvage title. We have started this vehicle and it runs and shifts here on the lot. We have driven this vehicle down the road. Most of the cars only need maintenance, such as brakes, tires, oil changes, detailing to make vehicles. Remember, when you buy one of these vehicles, most people bring trailers or tow dollies and tow them home to do repairs as needed. Once you buy the vehicle, you can drive it home if you want to, but I have not checked the brakes or tires. However, a lot of people do drive them home. You can do what ever you want with it, once it’s yours. I am sure some people will have some flat tires on the way home and then others will get home fine. I sell these vehicles as I buy them, cutting down on my costs of business. These vehicles will make good, cheap transportation with just a little maintenance done on them.
