Vehicle Detail
1986 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28: 60,295 original miles on body! Approximately 15,000 on ZZ4 crate motor, and less than 4000 on 700R4 Transmission. Engine-350 ZZ4 5.7 liter, H.O. Chevrolet crate motor. Rated at 355 Horsepower @ 5250 rpm. 405 ft lbs of torque @ 3500 rpm. The ZZ4 came standard with aluminum heads, and is an awesome running engine. It runs like new, and does not smoke, leak, or make any unusual noises. I've changed the oil every year since I never drive the car. If you would like more info on the specs Google ZZ4 crate motor. crateenginedepot.com is selling this motor alone for $4179.00The car was also dyno tuned in 2004 by Cor-Vette Masters Inc. in Orlando. They burned a new chip for the car and replaced ignition module. Exhaust- Headers with SLP stainless steel exhaust including cat back system, SLP catalytic converter, and Y-pipe. The engine also has SLP intake runners, Z-R1 corvette injectors, SLP Cold Air Intake, BBK/Edelbrock Throttle bodyBattery is mounted in the back, and there is a disconnect to kill the battery in the center console glove box. Transmission- Corvette 700R-4 that was replaced about 4 years ago. Converter is close to stock stall. This is one thing I would have liked to do over. The car could really use a nice stall converter. The trans is hooked up to a B&M ratchet shifter and there is a trans cooler mounted on the front of the radiator. I also added an aluminum LS1 drive shaft a few years ago. Suspension- The car has a lot of suspension work done including roll cage, Rancho coil springs, and struts, Hotchkis subframe connectors, Hotchkis lower trailing arms, rear sway bar, and strut tower brace. I also have a Hotchkis front sway bar, but the diameter was so large it caused the wheels to rub, so I changed to am IROC sway bar. Rear end installed in the car came out of a GTA Trans AM. I was told it has 3.23 gears, and that seems to be correct. The car has 4 wheel disc brakes with drilled rotors. No stopping issues at all, brakes work perfect. The rear wheel wells were "mini tubbed" to fit the wide Z-R1 wheels also. The plastic trim on the inside was cut up and I have never done anything to fix it. Wheels/Tires- 17x11in the rear and 17x9.5 AFS ZR1 style wheels. There are Summitomo 315/35/17's and 275/40/17's on the car (Z-Rated) They are in decent shape with probably 60% tread life remaining. I put them on back in 2007. History- I purchased this car in November of 2002 from an engineer out of Melbourne, FL. I still have his For Sale sign and will post a picture of it below showing that the car had 49,000 miles on it back in 2002 when I first got it. The guy that I bought the car from in 02' had most of the work done in 1999. He didn't do any of the work himself, he paid a machine shop to do everything for him. All of the major stuff like drive-line and suspension was done to this car was done in the 98-98 time era. I'm not sure if he was the original owner, but I do know the car came from New Jersey. There is still a maintenance tag on the left side of the dash that showed scheduled maintenance @ 24,000 in Babylon, NJ. AC- works great. Heat also works fine. compressor was replaced with a reman unit in 2007. Its a little noisy when it kicks on, but works fine. Interior- Is in excellent shape. Carpet looks like new with no wear or stains. Seats, dash, headliner, are all in great shape. The original seat belts were removed, and replaced with the harness style racing seat belts. I've removed the rear bar and top section of the belts, but the winning bidder with get all the spare parts I have. I also have an extra rear hatch with glass, and a high rise Z-28 Spoiler (91-92 style) Power drivers seat, power windows and door locks. Windows work fine, just go up and down slow. Steering wheel leather is bad. The hot Florida heat causes it to ooze black stuff, so I put a cheap cover over it to keep my hands clean. Stereo- I installed a Pioneer DEH P9800BT stereo about 3 years ago. Super nice, top of the line unit. It has blue tooth to connect to your cell phone, and I also added the IPOD control unit. Problems- The car has some minor issues. 1. power antenna stopped working. I believe the cable broke because i could hear the motor running and would not stop one day. So i unplugged it, and thats how its been for about 5 years. 2. Gas gauge works but is off by 1/4 of a tank. When it reads empty, you really have a quarter tank. You will never run out of gas, you will just think your empty and fill up early. 3. When you start the car it makes a clicking noise before, but always starts. I just replaced the starter 6 months ago with a Duralast. The battery was replaced with a Duralast 3 year Gold 2 weeks ago also. 4. Headlight switch is loose, something in the dash broke and it needs to be re-secured.5. Paint is faded, and is "lacquer checking" It really looks good in the pics I took today, but the car needs a re-paint. Oil was changed a month ago, I also flushed the cooling system at that time. I hate to see the car go, but I no longer have the room for it, and refuse to let it sit outside. If anyone would like to come see it in person feel free to give me a call. Joe 352-425-0998. Happy Bidding! I bought an extra rear hatch with glass, and it also has lifts attached. I got this last year because I am not crazy about the glass etching. Also added pics of Z-28 spoiler, removable piece of roll cage with harness attached, some plastic trim parts, and I also have a large box with some misc parts I need to find.
