Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier LS. It is a 4 door sedan, gold, with 168,709 miles. Includes: Automatic Transmission, AM/FM Radio with CD player, Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Driver and Passenger Airbags, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Power Windows, Power Locks, Traction Control, Tilt Wheel, Power Mirrors, Rear Spoiler, Remote Keyless Entry, Trailer Hitch I purchased the car in Tennessee in 2005 because I needed a solid used car to get me through college. It had about 120,000 miles on it then, I think. Now 5 years later, it has worked remarkably well despite having relatively high mileage. I have all my maintenance records, and have taken good care of the car since I've had it. It's had regular oil changes and it runs well. I don't know anything about its history before me besides what showed up in the vehicle history when I bought it. I know it was in an accident before I got it but I haven't noticed any mechanical problems related to that. I've had this vehicle looked at by my mechanic and right now it needs a few maintenance issues. I am selling it AS IS so if you win the auction you'll want to take care of these things. It needs new front disc brakes and will need new front tires soon, if not now. It also needs the serpentine belt and the accompanying pulley replaced (I can actually give you the new pulley because I have it). Recently the Oil Light has also been coming on when the car is stopped and idling (at stop signs, red lights, etc). The owners manual (which I have!) claims this isn't a problem, but it might be something you would want to check out as well. The car has checked out as having no frame damage, and the transmission and engine are in working and good condition. The car has been repainted in several places but its hard to tell unless you're really looking for it. I was just trying to cover up a few dings and minor scratches so it would look a little nicer for me. As far as wear, I've tried to show pictures of what I can. It does have some typical dings and scratches that you would imagine for a car its age. The cloth of the seats and the carpeting have an expected amount of wear, but it still looks clean. The clear coat of paint is peeling a bit above the driver side front door. There are two bigger wear issues. The dashboard is cracked and broken where it touches the front window. It doesn't make noise or anything but it is what it is. The other is that a minor run in with a pole in a parking garage has left the the front passenger side wheel well area a little bent (see pictures). This affects the passenger side light assembly, which wiggles a little but is still secure and still works. The hood closes and opens without any extra effort, and there was no mechanical damage as a result. The car runs well, starts without a problem, and has never caused me any difficulty (it was just time for something new for me). It is being sold AS IS but should be great for anyone who is willing to replace the brakes. It passed Maryland state inspection 2 years ago with some minor maintenance and emissions inspection without any problem at all. It's a great little car and has served me well. Buyer must be willing to pick the vehicle up, I will not ship it.
