1958 Mercedes Benz Unimog 404 S Troop carrier, Cargo truck Movie truck ! Was featured in the movie "Iron Eagle 3 / Aces" with Lou Gossett Jr. and Horst Buchholz. This truck is not just sitting the background; the movie shows some actual driving action with original engine sound (not a V 8 ........) This is one of the harder to find drop side Pick up trucks. Good running vehicle with decent tires, recent brake job including rebuilt wheel cylinders, carburetor and recent ignition service. The truck had been repainted since the movie and comes with side stakes for hauling tall loads as well as complete frame with rear canvas. Rear canvas is NOT original. Has raised air intake for fording water and bumper wands. Chromed emblems in front and gas cap lock. Some of the photos are older and the Unimog now has a brand new factory windshield and frame as well as new front canvas top and excellent used side curtains / door windows which are not torn or faded. Presentable and drivable vehicle with normal wear and tear to be expected from a 52 year old classic. The drop sides are removable which make this truck very versatile for any kind of job. Please do not expect highway speeds over 45 mph or great gas mileage. This is a 404 S Unimog and you can read everything about these very capable trucks on the Internet. A few examples are four wheel drive with locking differentials and portal axles with 30 degrees articulation. Ground clearance is "5 gallons", meaning that you can clear a 5 gallon bucket with the lowest part of the truck easily ! The wood in the bed is all there but has "swollen" and cracked in a few places. It can be used as is but should be replaced if you need a totally straight surface. Photos on website are older, updated photos show the new, black windshield frame, new front canvas and current odometer reading.
