Vehicle Detail

Acme Three Phase Electrical Transformer 1968 Scout 800. Original, Two Owner Car. Rust Free, Straight Body, Extra Parts GALORE! Description: For sale is a two-owner 1968 Scout. I have owned the car since 1995. I purchased the car from the original owner in California. The car is currently located in the dry climate of Central Oregon. It is virtually rust-free. The body is VERY straight. The mileage says 36,000, though given the age of the car, I imagine that it has rolled over at least once. I have driven it a total of about 10,000 miles since I have owned it. It has been a recreationally driven only. The Good: Overall, this is a beautiful condition original Scout Original 266 V8 engine No rust at all on underside or on any exterior body panels. Minor surface rust in bed (see photos) Body 100% straight, never wrecked, all original steel panels Original bench seat professionally reupholstered in matching colors Comes with an extra set of doors (the doors that are installed have speaker holes drilled in them) Comes with RECEIPTS and PAPERWORK from 1968! Includes a new Kayline soft top. These were discontinued in 2001 and are the top of the line custom made soft tops for Scouts. Updated beefier/stronger tie-rod Stan's headers with chrome finish Dual Exhaust Two fuel tanksIncludes OEM spare tire tailgate mount (unique hinge design) Has been stored in a dry, covered area Runs and drives. It has been sitting for over a year, and it needs minor repairs before it is ready for a road trip (see below) Includes extra misc parts including many emblems, etc. The Bad: The car was stolen in 2005. The thief removed some of the original emblems painted over the original green with primer black. Fortunately, the wonderful local police department located the vehicle and caught the jerk who stole it before any real damage was done. Although the body is VERY VERY straight and all panels are original, it could use a new paint job. There is a leak in the oil pan where the dig stick enters the pan. This will need to be welded before it is road-trip ready. It also needs a tune up. Other than that, it has no mechanical problems that I am aware of. I would recommend using a trailer to transport this car. You are welcome to brave a road trip as-is at your own risk. Aftermarket roll cage is cheesy. Photos: Shipping: Successful bidder must pay deposit of $500 to hold the car within 48 hours of auction close. Pickup must occur within 14 days of auction close or vehicle will be re-listed and deposit will be forfeited. I am also selling this car locally. I reserve the right to end this auction early if the vehicle sells locally. Questions? Feel free to email me with any questions. I will be happy to discuss this over the phone with serious buyers. Check my feedback scores. Bid with confidence. The engine, clutch and transmission are all solid. The vehicle will need a tune-up as it has been sitting for a couple of years. The oil pan leak is at the point where the dipstick enters the pan. It is due to an old J-B weld job that has failed. The leak is not caused by rust. The transmission is a 4-speed. I do have the front license plate. The wiper arms were taken when the car was stolen in 1995. I do have a set of blades that comes with the car but no arms.
