1987 MERCEDES-BENZ 300-SDL TURBO Up for auction is this classic 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300-SDL. The car is over 20 years old and is considered a classic. No manufacture makes a car like this anymore. The engine will last a lifetime if taken care of properly. HISTORY The car has been properly maintained. The engine was fully rebuilt at 200,000 miles and the transmission at 320,000 miles. Basically, with continued maintenance, the car can possibly go another 3-400,000 miles. No car has been made similarly since. As shown in the pictures, the car does show its age cosmetically. There is a tear in the driver’s side seat. The dash board shown in the picture is as appears when the car is started. The fan belt makes a noise but is securely in place and was replaced less than a year ago. The body has some dings and rust spots, but nothing that cannot be taken care of with ease. The power door locks work properly, but must be unlocked at another location other than the driver’s side door to keep from the alarm sounding. The antenna functions manually. The AC may be a bit temperamental, although has worked for the most part. Additionally, the driver’s side front tire’s bearing cap is missing, but a replacement cap is included. All four tires have been replaced and are less than a year old. Overall, the car is in good condition and should not disappoint. Also included is a functioning Sony AM/FM cassette radio, although the radio’s display is faded with a 10 disc changer located in the trunk. The tail lights may need to be replaced.
