Vehicle Detail

This vehicle is for sale with NO RESERVE. it is for sale as-is, where-is, which is in Blacksburg, Va, 24060. Again, NO RESERVE AUCTION, meaning the highest bidder at the end wins the car. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO PAY FOR AND PICKUP THIS 1999.5 Volkswagon Jetta. Whatever the price is on Sunday night at 9:05pm or so, that is what it is selling for. If you are seriously interested, I recommend setting a reminder on your phone to check ebay 8:30 PM on Sunday night. I have a clear title, in my name, which will be handed over to the new buyer after I receive payment, along with a bill of sale. This is a 1999.5 VW Jetta TDI 5 speed 1.9L turbo diesel sedan, 4 door, dark green in color as you can see. For some reason ebay lists it as an automatic. IT IS A MANUAL, always was, probably always will be a 5 speed standard (manual) transmission. This car averages 47-53 miles per gallon of diesel on the highway, and 30-40 mpg in town, depending on how fast you like to accelerate. This vehicle should be picked up at its current location and towed home, it runs and drives, but it needs a little bit of work before you can hit the open highway. One cylinder is a little bit lower on compression, meaning it either needs new piston rings in cylinder #4, or it has a bent rod in cylinder # 4. The compression readings from the bug shop (ph. # 540-552-8800) are #1-460, #2-460, #3-450, #4-340. I have driven it less then 1000 miles since I purchased it in January of this year. I drove it around for a week, had the compression tested at the local shop, and it has sat since then. It could be driven at present condition, but it puts out extra unburnt fuel and perhaps a little oil which gets past the rings in that one bad cylinder. It can be driven, but i would recommend TOWING this vehicle home. I have a trailer you can borrow if you leave a big deposit or I can help you get the car home if you need, YOU MUST ARRANGE THIS BEFORE BIDDING. This vehicle is sold with NO WARRANTIES. please come test drive/inspect before bidding if you like, it is encouraged. This cars comes with extra fuel filters for both diesel and veggie, as well as an oil filter, as well as EXTENSIVE manuals for the veggie system and huge owners manual and VW repair manual. As you can see from the pictures, the paint's clear coat layer is peeling off of the deck lid, roof, and hood a little. There are also a couple of minor scratches and a very small dent on the passenger's side front fender. ALL of these imperfections were pictured. The exterior is likely a 7/10. The interior is closer to a 9/10, in fact, other than the glove box door handle, the interior is about perfect. Under the black plastic floor mats the carpet is perfect. There is one 1/8 inch diameter rust spot on the hood, this is also pictured. The glow box door handle fell off, but it still opens, closes, locks, etc. it functions fine. All accessories, lights, cruise control, AC, dual airbags, heat, etc etc work. The sound system is very very nice, I believe its a BOSE. The interior is suede, the windows are manual roll up. This car comes with one perfectly functioning key, with keyless entry, trunk pop, lock/unlock, etc. This car is equipped with a 100% waste vegetable oil conversion system. The make is Elsbett (http://www.elsbett.com/us/about-us/introduction.html) The receipt for this system is from "fossil free fuel" vegetable oil systems, 301 S. Carlisle St, Allentown, Pa 18109 and the date on the receipt is 10/19/2006. The total for the WVO conversion is $3200.00. This reciept is included in the sale of the car, as are a WHOLE LOT OF receipts. I have personally converted 3 cars to run on waste vegetable oil, this system is by far most superior to any system I have seen or used. The receipt: solenoid valvex2=$160, flate plate heat exchanger-$200, aux. moon shaped fuel tank for diesel-$225, A4 drop in heat exchanger-$300, controller-$500, fuel level sender-$40, hose-in-hose lines-$85, tubing, clamps, fittings-$230, fff fuel filter-$300, brackets-$45, fuel filler assembly-$65, and $1,450.00 worth of labor. There is $3200 worth of vegetable oil system components on this vehicle. If you ARE NOT INTERESTED in this stuff, I will take it off and hold onto it for another project down the road. IF THE JETTA SELLS HERE ON EBAY FOR LESS THAN $2,500, I WILL NOT INCLUDE THE VEGETABLE OIL FUEL SYSTEM. If the Jetta goes for $2500.01 or more, I will include the WVO system if the buyer wants it. The flat plate heat exchanger and custom moon tank, along with the controller are the best parts of the system. The half moon tank does not take up any trunk space. This tanks holds petrodiesel from the pump, and it is a 5 gallon capacity. The controller will automatically switch between diesel and veggie when the system is ready if you program it to do so. Also, if you like, you can turn off the Jetta while running on already heated WVO, and the controller will automatically switch the vehicle to run on diesel and the car will stay running and flush the diesel out of the block for you, then the car will shut itself off at the proper time and you can walk away from you car while its locked, and purging itself of veggie oil. The flat plate heat exchanger and heated fuel lines and filter heat up the veggie oil for you, so after a couple minutes of running on the fuel you have to pay for (diesel), the controller will switch to veggie and you can go anywhere you want on free fuel (vegetable oil), so long as you flush the engine of the veggie with diesel before shutting down. The car also has a "tdi frost heater" which is a custom heater. If you plug this in the night before a roadtrip or when it's -20 degrees out, it will heat up your engine coolant and veggie oil to allow you to switch to free fuel faster! I REALLY, REALLY regret having to sell this vehicle. I purchased 2 year license plates for it and was planning on keeping it for many many years, but I have too many vehicles and not enough time to fix this one. Receipts: I have every single receipt and thing which was EVER done to this car. To say that the previous two owners maintained it meticulously would be an understatement. The veggie oil system receipt 10/19/2006-$3200. 3/24/99 receipt for oil change with 5000, 10k miles, and 15kmiles N/C, 20k service again no charge for oil change, alignment, at 36k miles the oil was changed to synthetic. the windshield was replaced 3/08/02 for $463.10, 5/20/2002 receipts for tires and alignment at 57k miles-$228.Then on 3/22/02 I also have receipts for dampeners and cover plates-$74, rear two tires $159, and a timing belt change at 65k miles for $221.73. I also have a receipt from 6/2/03 $2,378.75, which is for a serp belt, timing belt, motor oil, filter, coolant, air filter, water pump, new sensa-trac struts, new tires, and new shock absorbers. new antenna 6/5/03-$31.96, receipt for new tires 12/3/07-$474, shifter pin for trans in 07-$48.15, in 4/11/2008, receipt for check engine light being on- a new EGR straight pipe was installed here-$412.34. 9/26/07 receipt for new turbo charger, fuel injectors, starter, intake manifold gasket, etc $1410.44, 8/23/07 VEM pump calibrate-$340.42, then from 1/19/07 $862.81 receipt for entire front strut assembly, oil filt, bump stops, strut mounts, rear calipers. $134 receipt for pipe and gasket, 8/23/08 receipt for 4 tires, $285.60, 3/13/07-starter, door handle $130.74, 3/13/08 glow plugs and controller, and fuel injection pump work $848.32, oil, filter 10/4/08 $38, 5/26/06 receipt for oil, tires $230.56, 10/7/09 work on brakes all around new $273.14, electrical and suspension work in 8/7/08 $358.50, 8/24/06-$476.08 glow plug light, coolant, fuel filt, oil filt, cabin filt, synth oil, wheel well liners and front end parts replaced, battery waste gate actuator, washer fluid reservoir receipts on 1/24/07-$275.08, 7/31/2007 receipts for machine shop, valve job, mill head, oil filter, timing belt, head gasket set, at 123,918 miles, 7/18/09 receipt for injectors, brake work-$128.59. Another new windshield 12/10/09 for $235.50, 10/9/09 receipt for air mass sensor, windshield wiper motor assembly $419.50. ALL OF THE RECEIPTS COME WITH CAR. I am sorry if you were frustrated reading through all of that, but I simply want to make sure the buyer knows this car was extremely well cared for, and all records are available and come with it. All-in-all, this car needs a hint of work. If the head were to be removed, you could tell if the rod is bent or if the lower compression in the one cylinder is due it needing new rings. Address that and you have a 30-50 mile per gallon car which runs perfectly on diesel or free vegetable oil, or biodiesel. Car is sold as it, where it, with no warrenties. If you need more pictures, would like to see receipts, have any more questions, please ask. cell eight four seven, 361-638sevoooon. Don't call before 9am or after 11pm. On Aug-01-10 at 21:17:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Please, before bidding, read over the entire listing twice. The reason I say this car is a 1999.5 rather than a 1999 is because in early '99, the VW Jetta's were far more boxy (termed "Mark III", I believe, whereas in the 2nd half of 99 (1999.5), VW came out with the Mark IV body style, which is the body style pictured pictured and for sale. Best of luck to you! Bid to win!!!
