Owned by the same couple for last 12 years Runs Smooth and Strong at 60 MPH Ready to Travel No Reserve!!***Sold to Highest Bidder! ** No Reserve! --------------------------------------------------------------- +++++++++ Must Be Sold ++++++++++++ You are bidding on a truly excellent, low mileage motor home in very, very nice condition . Its been well cared for over the years and is in excellent condition. This is a well regarded Chevy Tioga / Arrow 18 foot "married couple " or "small family " motorhome. And by the way, I'm not an expert, but supposedly this Tioga is a very sought after size. Apparently they say there are loads of 24-28 footers but these "shorty " 18 ' models ...light, good on gas , manueverable, easy to park, cozy ...are hard to find. It has only 44,000 miles on it. It's fresh and runs well. It's been maintained and protected well during its life. Its roadworthy and travel prepped. Several months ago while it was on our lot my family and I used it for a local family day out. Drove great, traveled that day trip distance easily, no problem whatsoever. Reliable and easy handling. This is a unit one person or a couple could really live in or travel in fulltime. Take it to the Grand Canyon, the Everglades, touring through the West for a season. Its strong and comfortable enough to really travel. Size matters !So as said - One of the most endearing about this camper is the size.- In so many huge campers you become a the victim of your own massive floor layout. In addition to massive fuel bills, the worst thing is ......you hesitate to go to 7-11 for a gallon of milk or run an errand - because the camper is SO big. Can't park, can't turn, can't move etc. Ease of Drivability -I found this camper SO convenient and easy to drive. Just slips into a parking spot. Go to get fast food, drive to the shopping center, take a little "side trip " ,sight seeing jaunt. All so easy. Even my wife << who counldn't even begin to drive a full size 26'-30' class A >>, can handle this Tioga. Drives live a large mini-van. It’s fully winterized (unused from last winter )… ready to go. That means the tanks are clean and clear. SEE 70 Pictures Below SEE 70 Pictures Below Excellent condition, cosmetically and mechanically - You will notice it. Owner was a retired gentleman who, like a most retired guys, have the time and resources to keep their stuff squared away. He owned it for about 12 years, paid off his 3 year bank note in '01 and finally this last year decided to trade it. Not new by any means, a few small issues, but a very nice unit nevetheless. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mechanical side: The engine, transmission, tires, and mechanicals are all strong . This is important. Household systems (Heaters, generators, microwaves etc) are important, but secondary. The real thing in my perspective is a unit with drive train integrity. The engine: This is the very dependable 4 barrel 350 Chevy workhorse engine. These are great engines. Well enough power to push a small RV around. Honey straw yellow colored clean oil on the engine dip stick, changed this summer. PA state inspection sticker just expired the end of last summer. Why this is better: Compare to the 454 engine - Remember a major advantage is that in this unit you can afford to drive it !! You can Travel. Move around . Fuel costs are reasonable![ A lot of the bigger 28'-32' type RV's are so expensive to operate ,.......... and so unwieldy to manuever ............... that folks are reluctant to even move them. ] Not this one. Take it to get a gallon of milk. no problem. It's a grocery getter....no problem. An extra cruise...no problem. And ....The mileage is quite low, just 44000 miles !!. When properly cared for these 350's can do 200k miles - not unusual . The engine runs and sounds smooth. It starts well. Two punches of the accelerator when it’s cold; starts effortlessly. Temperature, oil pressure, amps etc all perfect. The underside of the engine is clean and – no leaks or drips. This engine runs well. The coolant looks fresh . Transmission shifts up through the gears well, accurately, and on time. Not even a hint of an issue. Transmission fluid is correct and still pink. I’ve had our mechanic go over it, and he pronounced it fine. SEE 70 PICTURES BELOW Air conditioning - Roof Unit -Excellent -The main Duotherm # 1central air conditioning unit on the roof is cold and comfortable. It creates an exquisitely cool and comfortable air on a hot humid summer day. It is run off a regular plug in cord. (included ) Air conditioning - Dash board- also works. -The dash board AC is also working well. For traveling ...works off engine. Cold ! The fresh water has been winterized, (from last winter) drained and flushed clean. So too has the black water tank. The only most minor complaint is - the tiniest of manifold gasket leak . (present with almost all 80-90 % of these larger V-8 engines). This one is very minor and is frankly scarecly discernable above the normal sound of the engine itself. Not a problem at all, but i want to mention it. Our mechanic checked it over again recently and he confirmed it was otherwise running extremely well and we could take it right out. It’s definitely roadworthy for a long trip. He could have installed the fresh hoses, plugs, betls that are stored on board but instead left them all as emenergency inventory for you. So Saturday I took my younger son and a friend on a second shake down road trip to Annapolis and to points north and back. Very comfortable. Lots of fun and very roadable . __________________________________________ The tires are a matching set of, nice heavy duty truck tires. Maybe 65-75% tread left . I'm told theres about 8000 miles on them. Good tread. Little curb damage noticable on right rear sidewall, right rear tire. No big deal. It’s very good on the road; goes down the road straight and smooth with, little or no vibration. Cruising at 60 mph, on the interstate is easy. It’s smooth. Unlike many campers that rattle you to death with shelves, cupboards, dishes and trinckets bouncing.. this is smooth. Suspension is also fine. Relatively tight. Stiff enough to not be bouncing and “yawing” around. (Another thing you don’t want) The brakes hold strongly. Smoooth and correct. In fact th e brakes are really excellent . Feel like almost new. ______________________________________________ Another thing you immediately notice is the fresh pristine condition of the inside. In one sense its just the design. It has a real friendly bright feeling inside . Just a nice layout. Tight, compact , intense ,yet livable for two , at least for a while. --- furniture, carpets, curtains, appliances etc. a very smart design and a friendly, fun design. It’s had some use of course , but little and light. Little wear on uphulstery (they could have chosen a better fabric ), but still not bad at all. Carpets are excellent . New throw carpets. You will see that the couple that owned this camper really did love it. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that it was garaged or kept out of the weather or at the least covered. Looks on the outside like a unit 10 or 12 years newer. SEE PICTURES BELOW,,SEE BELOW It seems to me the mentality of these owners is worth noting: Example -He’s got a whole box of spare parts, all the emergency belts and hoses you could need ... all laid out and prepped in advance. Fire extinguisher prepared. The boxes of baking soda in the clean fridge to keep it fresh. All the winterized water systems. Complete pac of cleaning supplies with rubber gloves, micro fiber towels, cleansers, and furniture polish and air fresheners waits for you in the cabinets . You just can’t compensate for such a good attitude on the owner’s part. Frankly, you just very seldom see it. When you buy a motor home like this , in a sense you buy the mind and mentality of the owner …and their history of habits of care and diligence. The table tops and counters are real fresh. Bathroom- vanity, sink, tiolet ...stand up shower with mini tub. You’ll find in one of the cabinets an engine supply inventory with extra oil filters, your belts, hoses, new spark plugs, etc. Anything you might need on the road while traveling. Engine extra supplies -all this stuff comes with it – all the spare parts, oil, cleaning supplies, etc. (The dishes in the picture belong my wife!) Also, comes with an super long, heavy duty extension main power cord to power up the whole power system by plugging in to any nearby power source.(There's no generator) (You just pull up to a building , home garge or whatever , run the big cord to the home power and "you're in business"with complete power (or at electrically equipped campsite. 98 % of them are these days ) \----------------------------------------------------------------- ____________________________________ Exhaust is good throughout with the exception of the manifold gasket leak mentioned earlier. Some corrosion to be expected..Dual exhaust on either side . Several little red roof lights not lit, otherwise all lights fine . Factory radio -cassette ... works .... but I'd replace it with a sweet CD player. Roof antenna is down flat . Maybe putting it "up" would help. Cruise control - probably ok , but I never checked it . Another nice feature- Someone very thoughtfully professionally lined all the main cabinets with carpet...in fact carpet that matches the floor carpet. Ultra clean and real nice to use. All the knobs are intact and working . No banging, hanging, cabinet doors flying around. All screens, window latches, door locks are fine , exception of the main screen door which has one minor rip. Roof seems good shape. Has been consistently "treated " with the standard gray roof "goop" to waterprooof. Actually quite clean. Roof top AC plastic housing has the typical cosmetic damage (couple cracked louvers )from tree branches. Its fine ..doesn't affect anything. ACis very cold. Good ladder on back that supported easily my 220 pounds. Some old evidence of a former damage spot (repaired ) where one ladder stantion was hooked and ripped out and then fiberglassed back in . ------------------------------------------------------------------- . No leaks whatsoever were seen all through the summer while it displayed on the lot. None. One the inside of the over the cab main bed wall there's one very small spot where looks like a leak penetrated years ago . Long since totally resolved, caulked and dried . You can't even see it. (which, incidently, is why roofs need to be re-done every other year or so anyway for this very reason.) The underbody is good. For the year , in fact I'd call it very good. Skim of rust on certain parts, but overall, generally real solid. All the pipes, tanks, frame rails and are exclellent . (Again, see the pictures). ________________________________________________________ SEE PICTURES BELOW SEE PICTURES BELOW The other appliances -As said, both roof top and dash board air conditioners cut on and cool well. The fridge didn't cool, not sure why.(in fact I'm even sure we were turning it on correctly.) I had my man go down and fill the LNG propane with propane because I was pretty confident I could figure out the stove. (hey silly.....just turn the dial..light a match ) That much was easy ...it came on and lit fine. The remainder of the inside appliances, I'm sorry, I did not test because I wasn't totally sure what I was doing . That would be the running water , heater, toilet, shower, baking stove etc. As decent as the camper is overall, ....I think you assume most everything else is fine, but I'm sorry I can't guranttee it . As they say...Hope for the best, assume the worst. Note: If you want this camper B.I.N.-or win the auction - If it would help you .....: In the event it really turns out the fridge is on the blink and not cooling, after the auction and all's finished, I'd be happy to split the labor with you.... to have our guy here who charges only $58/hr go ahead and repair it or put in a used one. (Thats of course above and beyond the cost of the camper.) That might be of some help to you. Whatever you like. ] Leveling bubbles through out. Blocks are stored in the outside compartment. Brand new Deka batteries - Both the engine and the coach batteries were replaced just 2 months ago. Brand new deep cycle Deka marine -RV battery for the coach and brand new Deka engine battery for the 350 motor. This is in keeping with our concern that "drive train " is most iportant. [ $250 ] (pictures ) The ceiling is excellent very good; No heat shrinkage whatsoever. No leak signs The body is excellent. There’s barely a single imperfection in the body. (I’m sure there is at least several tiny ones if you really look!) Especially down low, every area is so good. Looks like the stripes were redone a few years ago. The paints and stripes have a little fade here and there, but generally real sharp. All the joints, caulk and rubber window gaskets are in excellent condition. Paint on the cab still shines. Overall, it’s an incredibly nice atmosphere in the motor home. Honestly made me want to saddle up, load up and take the darn thing off into the sunset myself. Sleeping area for adults - Space for 2 above the cab. Two separate mattresses nicely covered in fabric. One sits a bit higher than the other(oddly ). Would suggest adding a 6" railing board for safety so you don't fall out of bed. Looks like the dining area folds down for a childs type bed ..but you know , I forgot to check that. I think it does. Almost all RV's have that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buy It Now: If you want to Buy It Now ….In the interest of selling it quickly I’ve reduced it for the eBay sale. [It has been for sale locally, financeable, for $6,595 on the lot and it’s still here. It needs to go. ] The Buy It Now for the eBay sale has been reset to $4,288 to just sell it... to move it. That’s very fair. Fair, indeed for this unit. This is a prettyy nice litle camper. We want to make it easy! Call me or come over any question or concern. I will help you with anything if I can. Jim 410-320-5589. But , do call if interested. The buy it now is usually low enough that if someone doesn't take it locally or by calling during the auction (before the official end ), often times the bidding in the end may excede the Buy It Now amount. That said, barring a Buy It Now early sale, ……it will be sold NO RESEVE to the highest bidder. Simple. HIGH BIDDER TAKES IT. "The vehicle is for sale locally in Annapolis and we reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally first." Considering that these RV’s these days ….of this size and sort, are $30- $50,000 and more new, ………….this should be VERY affordable, at only a fraction of that. While certainly not flawless ..it has a couple of issues...few issues...but nevertheless this unit has a LOT of strengths.... to recommend it .....with the great size, low miles, cold air, nice condtion, easy handling etc..... and at this point, at the Buy it Now, is a very good value. Even if you do have to repair the fridge for a couple hundred dollars...so what...this is still a great little homey camper. [I saw an entire used RV fridge for sale the other day for just $150 ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. I can usually be easily reached at 410-320-5589. I will answer e-mail, but you’ll get much more comprehensive information and more quickly if you call. I've made a really good faith effort to cover and report on everything. Read carefully, look at the pictures ... This is the best I could do. You can fly into BWI (Baltimore) (cheap flights) and drive this RV anywhere in the country. Or call for a ballpark quote on shipping or deliver. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions at all. You can get me at 410-320-5589.
