Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1965 Corvair Monza Convertible. It has 59768 miles on it. This car features the telescopic steering column and wood steering wheel, it also has factory air conditioning, a very rare combo for a convertible. I have the protecto plate as well. We did a lot of restoration work on the car in the 13 years that I have owned it. It has 9 Clarks Corvair patch panels in it plus many pieces we had to hand fabricate, the resto work can be seen at http://community.webshots.com/user/davair1. POR15 was used a lot while I was doing rust repair and control for the future, like half a gallon of it. The windshield was replaced and while it was out we fixed any rust that was in there, we welded new metal and put in new clips as needed and I painted POR 15 all over the entire inner windshield frame so it should last for a very long time. We also put POR15 inside the rocker panels as best we could, the driver’s side rocker has been replaced by the very heavy duty part from Clarks Corvair. The A/C worked when I first got the car but now it needs charged up, I was going to switch it to R134 but since it is a drop top I never got around to it. The lower shrouds are off of it since I only drive it in nice weather, they are included along with other extras. The top is in good shape, no tears or rips, the window could use a buffing but it is not torn or cut. There is a brand new Clarks top boot installed for those days when you drop the top. For front seats I have put in high backs from a Nissan 300ZX, I dyed them black to match, they could probably use a fresh coat, the stock seats are included if you want them, they will need restored, buns and covers , since I am tall I like the high backs. I have not installed the trunk lock, it is included but not installed. The trunk is carpeted and has a new pan in it. The only flaws in the paint are a crack by the right rear tire and near the antenna and the only bubble is an area about 2 inches by 3 inches by the driver’s door near the bottom. The car is not a bondo car, we used patch panels and made our own when doing the rust repair. I can include some of the paint that we used on the car if you want it. You can see that from the pictures online. The motor is the original 110HP with PG trans. The motor runs fine, has solid compression and doesn’t smoke when driving down the road, it does have some typical leaks but my health does not allow me to do much work on the car anymore and that’s why I am selling it. Underneath the car since I owned it, every bushing has been replaced, all shocks and springs, ball joints and brake lines as needed plus wheel cylinders. I have also bypassed the stock fuel pump and put an electric pump on the car, a stock looking fake is still in place for that stock look. It has a many little new items that I don’t list because there are several, like the horn button and A/C balls, more chrome is good! Has rechromed bumpers as well. I have put so many parts on it over the years that it is impossible for me to list them all. The tires and wheels are like new, American Torque Thrust II's. 17x7 rear and 16x7 front. For tires I have Falken 215/50-17 rear and 205/50-16 front. We put Mother of Pearl in one of the clear coats so in the sun the paint really pops. I have won trophies at local car shows and had a lot of fun with it over the years, it is a fun cruiser not a Concours car, a super car for the money I am asking,. I have decided that for many reasons it is time to let someone else continue my dream with my baby. You will get a lot comments and thumbs up as you drive it. As Is Where is No Warranty of any kind The car is advertised locally in several papers so I reserve the right to end the auction if a buyer were to show up with cash. Deposit of $500 due within 24 hours and final payment, cashier’s check within 7 days or it goes back for sale. I am not able to drive the car for long distances so I have no idea about longs trips, I would ship it for safeties sake as I would any 45 year old car that I would buy. I would like the car picked up ASAP , I can store for a short time to help the buyer out. Any questions or if you need more pictures please ask.
