Vehicle Detail
1979 Corvette Vin # 1z8789s449655 ATTN: PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING THROUGHLY!! Engine 1998 5.7 Vortex motor bored 0.30, idles fairly smooth & runs very strong. Aggressive & throaty. All new internal parts…crawler pistons, crank, bullet rods, cam 292/300 duration, 584-579 lift Roller lifters, roller rockers (Jegs), S/R Torquer Cast heads with 3 angle valves, a Weiand 144 pro street blower kit, Edelbrock carburetor, new water pump, fuel pump, bearings, gaskets, head bolts, oil pump, Cloyes timing kit, flex plate, electric fan with adjustable thermostat control & Shorty headers. About 500 miles on motor very scary fast I believe 373 positrack (Transmission.350 turbo with Aggressive shift kit also very strong) very responsive, NO knocks, pings or ticks in this engine. I have over $16.000.00 invested not counting my time. I have over $6,900.00 under the hood. Mileage - I’m not sure of it says 50,000 on the odometer but could be 150,000 If it’s a 150.000 its still way better than most!!! I realize some of the pictures are blurry, but they were taken with a cellphone. The pictures include some before it had the Supercharger and blower. There's also one of the motor as it was being put in and one right after it was set in. Car has been garaged kept & is very clean! If you'd like to see more pictures, please message me & I will send you some. Just please specify what you'd like pictures of. Thanks! Body The body is in good shape overall. Needs painted and a few small spots fixed but no major work or cracks. The t tops were replaced with a full removable tented top and the car has full ground effects. Frame is in very good shape, good brakes, tight steering and I replaced the power steering control valve (they tend to leak on them after 7 or 8 year). Could use alignment. This car did come with air but is not on it and I don’t have the compressor but all the in dash stuff is there. I’m also including the original tires and rims, a new car cover and some other odd and end stuff which includes a Summit Racing starter and Monster tachometer, that's not on the car. Tires have about 95% tread on the back and 40% on the front. The front tires were used when I bought them, but still have some life left. Doors & door handles work as if they were brand new. Interior Carpet is faded but the seats are perfect. All gages are there, the temp is the only one that doesn’t work and the speed odometer cable is bad. The dash is very good, no cracks but could use a little TLC on the door panels. Has power locks, but they don't work. The electric windows are slow but work, wipers work, console is very good with the arm rest pad. All lights and turn signals work, B&M Ratchet shifter. I have never ripped on this car very hard at all other than to see what it was capable of speed wise in the distance of 3 telephone poles. That was the one and only time I ever opened it all the way up. And the burn out I was never in the 4 barrel, I was just playing around. As you’ll see in the video, I had a hard time holding it. This is the hardest this car has ever been driven and most people wouldn’t consider it hard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjXUiNvNyaM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzywMZsIjHI The Bad The radiator some times leaks a few drops here and there and I think when I put on the new water pump I might have cracked the plastic timing cover. It has a very small oil leak and it appears to be coming from behind the water pump. The cover is about 24.99 and takes about 45 minutes to replace. It needs headers wrapped, the headers get very hot and will burn the plug wires. I just don’t have the time any more. I have to be moved in 3 weeks and I’m pushing my time as it is. Pickup This car does need work but is an easy, fun restoration project. All the major work has been done. I hate the fact of parting with it but I just bought a house and need the money to finish out my house plus I have no garage to keep it in after I move. This is pick up only but I can help some with delivery contact me and we can talk. You are buying this car as is and I won’t have anyone coming and ripping on my car…all test drives will be done by me with you in the passenger seat. When you buy it and it’s yours then you can rip on it, although I really wouldn’t want to see that done to this nice of a car. I ask that $2,000 be paid up front on the car through PayPal when the auction is over, which will be 100% NON refundable. The rest must be paid on pickup. And pickup and the rest of the payment must be within 7 days of the auction ending. I’m starting the bid out at $5,000 with no reserve. I feel like I’m giving it away but I got to do what I got to do and I will take no less than the starting bid. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. On Jul-21-10 at 16:35:41 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm also adding in a brand new electric antenna & a brand new car cover, both still in the box!! I've added more pictures, please take a look at them. There's a picture of the only damage to the whole car...the nose area & the driver's side door handle. The nose isn't really damage though...just needs painted.
