Reluctantly for sale is my 1973 mgb with 116k miles . Purchased in Colorado in 2007 as a non running car and has since been mechanically rebuilt. Every system on this car has been either rebuilt or replaced and has been in use as a good weather daily driver since 2008. In 2009 I put 12k trouble free miles on the car including a trip to Mount Rushmore and a separate trip to Glacier NP, Yellowstone and back. Currently I would have no reservations about doing a 4 to 5k or mile or longer road trip tomorrow. Fly up to grand forks and drive back. Sold as is where is not interested in trades. Car needs to be picked up within 30 days of sale will help load if the car needs to be shipped. Engine Rebuilt 2008 at 104k miles. Crank is 10 under pistons are 40 over 8.8 to 1 compression. 270 cam installed with good hardened lifters. New vandervell rod bearings, tri metal main bearings and good quality one piece cam bearings installed. Head is the stock large valve head completely rebuilt. Alum. Valve cover and Alum. Oil pan. Engine since rebuild has only used Collectors choice engine oil with the correct amount of zddp. Oil pressure HOT 60psi idle 75 to 80psi at speed. Carburetors are hif4’s rebuilt by acme speed shop and installed at 102k miles. Fuel tank was boiled out and coated in 2007. New electronic SU fuel pump installed along with new hoses in 2007. Exhaust is the moss full tourist trophy polished stainless steel system the moss heat shield has also been installed under the car to keep the feet cool. Ignition is a 45d4 rebuilt and curved for the engine by advance distributor in 2008 with a new petronix ignition and Lucas sport coil. Transmission is an overdrive transmission with a rebuilt overdrive unit by quantum mechanics in 2009 with about 7k miles on it. Transmission does have a slight grind downshifting into 3rd but otherwise works great. Driveshaft replaced in June of 2010 with a new unit. Cooling new radiator in 2007 heater box rebuilt with new heater core in 2009. Electrics The electrical system has been replaced with a completely new main, transmission and rear stock harness from British wiring. Alternator is the upgraded Bosch unit from a ford fiesta. Starter is a hi torque starter installed in 2008. All bulbs have been replaced. New switches including the brake warning light, headlight switch, fan switch, turn signal stalk, windshield wipers/overdrive stalk. Everything works and works reliably. Battery is from Mazda Miata second battery compartment is setup for storage. Tail lights replaced in 2009 with new units. Interior Seats were rebuilt in 2008 with new foam cushions and leather covers from prestige auto trim. Dash was recovered. Floor was insulated with Damplifyer sound/heat reducing material Carpet kit from moss was installed. New radio and center consul was installed. New door panels and the top caps were recovered. The top is a pack away stay fast top from prestige with a zip out rear window. Top was installed fall of 2008. Alpine stereo with Sirius sat radio and iPod input. 4” infinity speakers in the door. New door and trunk seals in 2008. New 3 point seatbelts in 2008 Suspension. Front and rear suspension has been completely replaced. New shocks front and rear with all new links. Front suspension includes new a arms, 550# springs, swivel axles, new 5/8ths sway bar, poly bushings including the cross member bushings. Rear suspension includes new shocks, springs and poly bushings all around. Hydraulics System has been completely replaced with the exception of the hard lines. Clutch master, slave and the hose replaced in 2008 Brake master replaced in 2007 with all new rubber hoses. Front brakes were replaced in 2009 with new calipers , rotors and ebc red stuff pads. Rear brakes were rebuilt in 2008 with new wheel cylinders and brake shoes. Emergency brake system was also replaced with a new handle and new cable. Body/paint Paint is rough but looks ok at 20 feet Body the floors were replaced in 2007 with new heritage floor pans. The understructure was soild. Battery boxes are still solid. Sills without cutting into them appear solid and the area behind the front wheel well spash panes is solid. Dog legs have the usual rust in them and the left side appears to have been patched at some point while the right side appears to be original. There are also some pinholes in the lower right hand front fender however this fender is older than the car. Trunk floor is solid. Windshield was replaced in 2008 with a older style frame that was stripped and polished. New glass and all new seals including the bottom seal were installed. Bumpers, side trim, grill were replaced with new in 2008 Wheels New superlight 15 inch wheels along with kumho asx tires were installed in the spring of 2009 and have 12k miles on them.
