1979 Lincoln Continental Collectors Series. I purchased the car from a dealer on eBay in February, and while it is very clean (see the pictures), it is not in the pristine condition as advertised. The mileage has been represented to me to be a little over 92,000 miles. The car has no rust. It appears to have been repainted, and the paint job from a distance is nice, but up close it is clear that it will need to be buffed out. Also, the paint on the rubber between the bumpers and body is fading and cracking. The air conditioning does not seem to work. I'm not certain what the issue is with the A/C. The car idles rough, and I'm not sure why. The garage/dealer I purchased the car from told me that the car sat for 2 years before I bought it, so the carburetor may need cleaning. Finally, my mechanic has told me that the car has a leak in the rear main engine seal. The engine is a 400 c.i. engine, and my mechanic said that the leak is a small leak, and that the car can be driven with no problem without fixing the leak. He estimated the cost to repair the leak at about $850. That's the bad stuff, now the good stuff. The interior is in really great condition, and the car is a true 10 foot beauty from the outside. It gets a lot of admiration from passerby's. The car also comes with a spare set of wheels. The car is a 3 owner car (including me and I've only had it since February). This is a Collector Series car, and is the last of the big Lincolns. It has all the options, including power moonroof, special gold grill bars, right hand remote mirror, color-keyed turbine wheels (blue for a blue car), six-way power seat, tilt wheel, cruise control, automatic garage door opener, electronic am/fm 8 track stereo, Cartier clock, factory CB radio, auto-dimming headlights, interval wipers and power vent windows.
