1968 Jeepster Commando This is an original Commando with 96,469 miles( I am driving it around town so may be a little higher when sold). I was purchased new in Washington State by an older lady and was used to go to the store etc. and never off road according to her nephew I had bought it from. She brought it to Southern California years ago and has no rust or cancer I could find. It has original paint, except for hood that was resprayed factory color just to look a little better. The whole car could use a paint job, but I liked the fact that it was never touched. It has never been in an accident. The top has never even been off. The seals have never been cut for removal of top. Has original rims and the factory style mag hubcaps. It runs and drives great. There are no known problems with this car. It fires right up and drives and stops great around town and on the freeways. VERY STRONG MOTOR, TRANSMISSION. I had rebuilt the bottom of the carburetor only as it had a couple of bad gaskets and loose screws. Has a newer battery, good BFG all-terrain tires (a little taller than original). It has the original paint on the interior and all is in amazingly great shape for being over 42 years old. Every part of the interior looks great, seat belts, visors, rear view mirror, gauges, lights working in dash, steering wheel perfect, column is great, door regulators work great, keys all work great, doors seal good (drivers door missing a little bit of seal at bottom). Paint where your feet go is a little worn on drivers side and little on passenger side. The bumpers, too, are original and are nice. I do not think they have been off the car, either. There is some surface rust spots on the bumpers in a couple of spots showing through paint, and a little on roof, none that need any repair work. The original front valance comes with car and is original paint, too. It was removed for a plate being added to reinforce steering box at some time. This car is a great, ready for you. This car is being sold in as-is where-is condition. Please come to inspect, you will be pleasantly surprised how nice it really is. Please do not ask reserve.
