Vehicle Detail

How often do you see a 55 F-100 for salew at $1.00 and NO RESERVE!! In 7 days, this super rare truck could be yours!! At the time of this listing, this is the only F-100 from 1953-1956, that is a Canadian Export truck, for sale in the United States!! This truck is RARE as Hens teeth! Ford kept track of the production numbers for trucks built for sale in the US, but so few were produced for sale in Canada, that they really didn't keep track of them. The majority of F-100's that were shipped into Canada were equipped with the 223 cubic inch "Mileage Maker" straight six, because up there, fuel mileage was king even back in the day! These trucks very rarely made the trip back across the border into the states, but this one did and found a home on a farm in North Carolina. The truck was used daily as a farm truck until the tranny went out, they removed the tranny and took it to a shop where it was being repaired when the elderly owner passed away. The truck sat for years after his passing and it was never used again. That is the story I was told when I bought the truck, I have no other history on the truck except that I know it was a Canadian Export truck due to extensive research that I did after I purchased the truck, so if that much was true, I have no problem believing the rest of the story. This is what I know about the truck, the 223 straight six is NOT locked up, it turns freely and should be no problem to start, however, since the tranny is gone and the starter, I couldn't start the truck, but I did remove the distributor and clean it, removed the carb and it was clean as a whistle, so I know I could get the truck to run if I had a starter that would fit! I am very good with old Fords, and I LOVE a straight six!! The pictures should tell the story, but there is metal work to be done, however, don't worry about the rust on the front fenders and the hood as I have already sourced a very good set of workable front fenders and a very nice hood! The extra sheet metal alone is worth some serious coin. The great thing about these trucks is, they are so popular that every piece of sheet metal is reproduced to a high standard and can be bought inexpensively!! The cab corners will need replaced and the passenger side door will need some work down low, I would replace both running boards because they are cheap and easy to replace, the bed wood is obviously gone and will need replaced. The interior is very complete and in good shape to be 55 years old, the truck shows around 52,000 miles, which should right based on what I have seen and what I was told. All four tires hold air and the truck steers fine , so it will be easy to load onto your trailer. All the glass is cracked as you can see, but an entire replacement glass kit is available and is cheap. Ask any and all questions, as I ahve honestly described this truck, it is a project but once restored will be worth a mint, I am only selling this truck because I want a rat rod truck and this ine is way too rare to cut and chop up, besides, I just bought a '49 International with the crank out windshield to rat rod!! This truck comes with a Bill of Sale only, I don't have a title, but I have used a title service in the past and been very happy with them, International Title in Las Vegas, NV will give you a title in about 3 weeks for less than half of the price and period of time than Broadway Title or most of the other guys.On Jul-14-10 at 09:31:00 PDT, seller added the following information: I will post the pictures tonight of the extra sheet metal, (fenders and hood). On Jul-14-10 at 18:37:36 PDT, seller added the following information: As I stated in the original listing, I have no history on this truck except what I was told from the guy I bought the truck from, I have done business with this guy before and he has never steered me wrong, so take it for what it is worth. Even if the truck is a garden variety 1955 Ford F-100, so what? Either way I am offering this truck at $1.00 and NO RESERVE, so it will sell to the highest bidder. I am taking a huge risk on this auction, but this is the way I sell almost everything, I start my auctions at $1.00 and let them go for whatever they bring because I think items generally sell for about what they are worth, and I love TRUE auctions! I have added 3 pictures of the extra sheet metal, both front fenders and the very nice hood. So take a look at them and be ready to pay for this truck quickly, if you can't get here for a couple weeks to pick it up, that is fine, I own plenty of land and it is safe for it to sit here, but I need it paid for within a few days. If you have low or zero feedback, email me first because I like to know what type of people I am dealing with, if you want to talk on the phone about the truck, email me and I will give you my phone number. Bottom line is this...this is a very nice start to restore or hot rod a very desirable Ford truck, it will require some work, but don't forget about the extra sheet metal that can just be bolted on and anything else that needs attention can be purchased relatively cheap, Thanks and Good Luck!
