I have a complete file of more pictures of this vehicle I will e-mail to anyone who is a serious potential bidder. Please read this entire description before bidding. I had to relist this vehicle because of a non-paying bidder. Offered for auction is this 1983 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series with low mileage. This will probably the last listing for this item. I am selling it for a friend of mine who is only the second owner of it. I will give his phone number to seriously interested parties. He purchased it from the original owner's estate about ten years ago. His reason for selling is that he has purchased another vehicle and no longer needs this vehicle. I will give the owner's name and phone number to serious potential bidders for detailed questions. I noticed the title issue is checked when you look at the rating. The title is free and clear. We know of no title issues involved with this vehicle. I checked with the owner and the only thing he can think of is that the original owner replaced the original engine around 1995-96 with the same type of engine that had around 20,000 miles on it. The work was done at the local Lincoln-Mercury garage. Current owner has the paperwork. They had taken the vehicle to a service station for an oil change and employee forgot to replace the oil. The then owner's wife drove it and engine locked up. Currently the battery is dead, but the owner can make arrangements if you want to stop by and hear the vehicle running. Where the owner resides is very close to an interstate highway. The exterior considering its age is in fairly decent shape. Rust overall is very minimal and is confined to around the left front fender, right rear quarter panel, and the worst spot being the lip of trunk. There is a dent in right front fender and door with a small ding in right rear door. The clear coat is coming off the hood. The landau vinyl top could stand to be replaced. The hydraulics in both trunk and hood need to be replaced. The shades of green on this vehicle were a very unique color for this year. On the interior the comfortable pillowy seats and the carpet are in very good condition. The door panels on both front doors and the top of dash show some wear. The wire wheel covers are all in good condition and the tires have about 60% tread left on them. The power window on front passenger side does not work as well as the air conditioning (just needs a sensor). The transmission was rebuilt a few years ago. The motor is a 302-V8 that is not bad on gas. The frame and floor pans appear to be in good condition. All the window glass as well as the plastic in the lights are all in excellent shape. The owner has the original owner's manual and other papers as well as The Lincoln Commitment warranty identification card (gold card) from the original owner. It shows the vehicle was put in service on 1/26/83. This vehicle would make a great work car or just daily driver. It would also make a nice restoration project. It would also look awesome as a lowrider or with a custom paint job and a nice set of cool looking 20" wheels. This would also make a great donor as a parts vehicle if you need one. The owner is selling it complete and not going to part it out. This vehicle is being sold "as is-where is" with no warranty written, expressed, or implied. I know a local person who may be able to help with transportation of the vehicle, otherwise it is the responsibility of the successful bidder to pick up and transport it. I will accept a deposit of $150 (non-refundable) to my Paypal account at close of auction. The balance must be paid to owner at time of pick up in cash unless other arrangements are made. It must be picked up within 14 days of close of auction (unless other arrangements are made). When picking up vehicle, it would probably be best to trailer it. Please do not bid on this vehicle if you don't plan on paying for it.
