Vehicle Detail
1967 Austin Healey MKIII BJ8 You are bidding on a beautiful, 1967 Healey Blue MKIII BJ8. I am the third owner of this low mileage car (85,183) and have put a tremendous amount of TLC bringing this car back to a great looking example of British automotive history. This head-turning Healey starts on the first try and runs extremely smoothly, whether you are driving around town or doing 75+ on the highway! My goal in this restoration process was to replace everything that was necessary, while preserving an “original look”. When people gaze at the car, they don’t know if it’s an excellent original or restored car. Everything works as it should, except the heater. I couldn’t gather the enthusiasm to restore it, since I’m in South Florida. This car has always been garaged and never exposed to the elements. This Healey has all of the extras: original chrome wire wheels, new Tourist Trophy wood steering wheel and original stainless steel exhaust tips. The car received an older re-spray that is still very presentable. The vinyl seats and navy carpets are still in good condition, so I left them alone, except for installing new heat insulation. Also, in the cabin, I replaced the door rails, dash pad, kick panels, etc. I re-chromed the rear bumper but the other bright work is in great shape. The transmission was serviced and the clutch was replaced just prior to when I purchased the car in 2008. Here is a partial list of the other changes I’ve made to the car: New halogen headlights Added fog lights and badge bar Professionally re-cored radiator Professional engine / carb rebuild (now runs on regular unleaded) New brakes and brake lines (front and rear) New generator New water pump New SU fuel pump Spin on oil filter adapter (still have original canister pieces) New voltage regulator New fuse box 5 new Vredestein tires New vinyl convertible top New Armacord trunk lining Dual seatbelts installed in the back seat New battery All of my service records and receipts are available. The lucky, new owner of this Healey will be buying a great car that needs basically nothing and is now ready for many more years of fun in the sun! ** This vehicle is being sold as is, with no warranty, expressed written or implied.
