We are Build a Bandit/Pick a Pony. This auction is for the custom build of your 1978 Trans Am. The following pictures are of cars that have been ordered in the last couple of years. Colors of the exterior, interior and bird packages have no effect on the price. Base price for a 78 is 16,900. We also do 79-81 TA's for a base price for 13,900. In the last 6 years or so, many of these auctions on Ebay have had 100% approval raitings. Many cars are not to the exact specification of a 1978 because the owners of these cars chose that in their build. All cars come with new weather stripping, full interiors, upholstery, door panels, package trays, and carpet. There are too many things to list that are new. Cars look new underneath as well and have rubberize coating underneath and in the trunk area. New exhaust and chrome tips are added as well. These are not perfect becuase these cars are over 30 years old, but they are restored to above driver quality and new to the look. We provide the car for your custom build. We buy non running cars that come from out west (these are true Trans Am titled cars), disassemble them and start with a complete restoration job. They are not 35,000.00 dollar off frame restorations but very comparable. They really turn heads. The engine compartments can be as from the factory with the shaker and exhaust hose from the air cleaner or have it completely chromed out. There is no difference in price for this either. Standard for these cars is a 403 or a 400 engine with 350 turbo automatic transmission, but to have a 4-speed is about 2,000.00 dollars more. Air Conditioning is a 1,200.00 dollar option. Full price orders (from pricing on the website) can pay 50% down, 25% after paint, and 25% after birds when complete. These take 27-32 weeks to build. Orders that pay full up front get the After 4th of July special; 3,000.00 dollars of add-ons free. As of August 1st, these Trans Am's will have a 1900.00 increase.
