(SCROLL DOWN FOR THE DRIVING VIDEO)RE-LISTED DUE TO NON-PAYING BIDDER Please do not bid if you do not have the funds or do not understand that you are entering into a purchase contract! Here is a project with a difference No major rust (see notes & photos below) Runs & Drives Pretty paint Beautiful Leather - $2510 invoice provided Approximately 10 years ago the past owner spent good money on: Engine work (9:1 compression & 20 over pistons) Compression readings: #1 (155) #2 (145) #3 (160) #4 (170) #5 (155) #6 (165) Upper timing chain Suspension work Crane electronic ignition Voltage regulator Transmission service New steering box New high capacity radiator core Front brake calipers sleeved in stainless New paint When she came to us we drained the old gas out of the left tank, added new, put in a battery and she fired right up. Sold on a bill of sale with lien sale paperwork. (Optional: let me know if you want a California title instead) The miles listed is the actual odometer reading - we have no knowledge of total miles driven. The negatives: (1) Doors: needs interior door panels & has some bubbling at the bottoms coming through the paint It took us 30 seconds to do a local Craig's List search and find 4 solid doors WITH interior door panels for $400 total in San Diego. This would be cheaper than repairing the existing doors even though the rust spots are quite minor. (2) Also has bubbling at the low points of the fenders (see photos) The floor pans appear to be mostly solid (see notes & photos at the bottom) (3) It is very complete but we must assume that some small bits (trim, et al) might be missing. (4) It looks really pretty in the photos but make no mistake - this is a project. Plan to trailer it home. In 1999 after completing the mechanical work the car was driven from Portland, Oregon to San Diego, California and put into storage at the local Navy Base Hobby Shop. It sat there until our acquisition a few weeks ago. This is a worthwhile project especially since so much work has already been done. She is selling NO RESERVE. Please bid only if you intend to follow through and have the funds to purchase. Click on the play button in the middle of the screen above to watch a brief driving video. Scroll down to watch video slideshow of the exterior and interior. Click on any small picture to see its larger version. Keep scrolling down for the undercarriage and interior pictures. The four headlamps set into the rounded fenders and the Jaguar grille set it apart from the other models of its day. Here we have pictures of the sides and roofline. The height of the Mark X was originally designed 9 inches lower ( than the Mark IX) to give the car a slimmer and more contemporary look. Below are some pictures of the doors and rocker panels. Click on the play button in the middle of the picture below, to see a brief slide show video of the car. The interior of the Mark X. The interior was redone about ten years ago. According to the receipts, the upholstery shop restored front and rear seat frames in their "Best Grain Leather". At the same time they installed a new headliner and covered the visors in the same material. The center console was covered in red vinyl(as per factory spec, only the seats are actual leather). Just below the interior and engine pictures are all the undercarriage photos. Here we show the headliner and visors in matching material. The wood tables and other pieces are shown in the pictures below. Upon receiving the Jaguar MK 10, we discovered a treasure trove of additional items in the trunk. Here is a general list of items in the trunk: water pump, starter , misc rods and brackets, spare tire, pair of brake discs, pair of tail lights with one lens broken, side mirror, fan, a pair of wiper arms, pair of trailing arms, pair of head light bezels, chrome speaker covers for interior, windshield trim, trunk lock and light assembly, four door pull handles, chrome hood strip, chrome decorative rings for hood, and what appears to be another wood set for the interior. Below is a scan of the receipt for the upholstery. Note: due to sitting for a number of years the chrome bumpers now need re-doing. The Jaguar Mark X shared the same famous straight-port 6 cylinder as the E-type. The 3.8L engine produced 265bhp, that propelled this big cat to about 120mph. This Jaguar still has its Triple SU 2-inch Carburettors. The Mark X also was the first Jaguar sedan equipped with an independent rear suspension. Click on any of the smaller pictures to view the larger version. We performed a compression test on the engine and documented with a couple of pictures. The compression test readings were: #1 (155) #2 (145) #3 (160) #4 (170) #5 (155) #6 (165) The following are photos I wish all sellers provided (especially on cars I'd like to buy long distance). I've had to learn the hard way to take with a grain of salt, statements made by sellers. A picture is worth 100,000 words. The previous owner installed a high capacity replacement core. Front suspension work was performed and front stainless steel sleeved brake calipers were installed around the same time. The full view of the floor pans. Here is a close up picture of the floor pans. The driver side front floor pan appears to have some minor splitting as seen from the picture below. An image of a sales brochure of the day. Jaguar was surely distancing themselves from the competition with fine workmanship and its attention to details on every model offered. My main business is restoring European cars for other people. I have been licensed and bonded to sell automobiles in California for 23 years. I know cars and know how to describe them accurately. I have bought a number of cars on EBay and most were misrepresented either intentionally or unintentionally. I won’t do that to you. If there is information that is important to your purchase and you don’t see it in my description please ask. My direct phone number is listed below. Also, you may want to go to my web site to see the types of cars I have sold and the quality of the restorations that we do. (Click "Client Restorations" along the left side of the screen.) Just Google “Motoring Investments” or go to my eBay "me" page for the link. This car will be sold under California regulations. We will fax, email or overnight documents that need to be signed and sent back such as the sales agreement, buyer's guide and power of attorney for the California report of sale. By bidding you agree to these terms. If you live in California, in addition to your winning bid we will be collecting sales tax at the rate in your county and city plus a document preparatory fee of $55 and DMV registration and transfer fees that will be determined at the time of sale. If you live outside of California and are SHIPPING the car you only pay us the amount of your winning bid plus $55 and you will receive a California title in your name. It will be up to you to pay your taxes once home. This vehicle is sold “as is” “where is” with no warranty expressed or implied including warranties of merchantability. 1. General disclaimer: It would not be feasible to list every minor flaw on an older vehicle (and all cars tend to look a bit better on the computer monitor). Minor imperfections come with driving a car in the real world. Due to the state of materials technology available when vintage cars were designed, expect some minor seepage of lubricating fluids. If you have any question at all about the condition of this car please don’t hesitate to ask. 10. A fair reserve is set. Sorry, but to be fair to all I will not disclose it. 11.
