Vehicle Detail

A forthcoming move out of state will necessitate selling off part of my motorcycle collection, and the choices aren't easy. I have more than enough bikes for my shrinking needs, and I just don't need two 4 cylinder Hondas, as nice as they are. This particular 350/4 has a lot to say for itself; a set of absolutely pristine factory exhaust pipes, new I was told at the time I bought it 5 years or so ago, fine chrome everywhere else, including beautiful and undamaged fenders, a butter-smooth gearbox, perfect seat, excellent tires and brakes and an engine that runs like a Swiss watch. The paint is in good condition, with minor dings and blemishes. The bike is completely original and undamaged except for the right side of the handle bars which are slightly bent upwards due to the right hand end of the bars leaning against the right side of a 26 foot moving truck which I drove from California to Oregon, which was about an 850 mile journey. A steady level of bouncing along the way probably didn't help. The bend seems to be in one direction only, and they could probably be straightened, but I lack any facilities for doing so. I only occasionally kept an eye out for a pair of original style bars but didn't notice any, although I am sure they can be found. Personally, I would wait for the proper replacement, as the bike is still enjoyable to ride. The photos which I took for this ad clearly show the bars. In an attempt to assess any damage, I removed the throttle grip assembly, which also incorporates the front brake fluid housing and rested it on a rag on top of the headlight nacelle, and I didn't notice that some of the brake fluid leaked, which caused the removal of some of the black paint from the top of the headlamp assembly, but no physical damage. The electric starter motor turns, but does not seem to engage the engine, which I have been told could be as minor as the failure of a spring which works with the starter. The directional signals work, as do the brake light, the rear light, both beams of the headlight, and the horn works with authority. As far as the chasis and all other parts, the bike is as straight as an arrow, and shows no crash damage or rust. Included will be the original tool kit and the very comprehensive and original owner's manual, which was to Honda's credit; setting the timing, adjusting the valves, and other service issues are easily carried out by following the simple instructions. The motorcycle must be paid for within 10 days of placing a successful bid. I will not be able to assist with crating or delivery, but there are a number of shipping companies which do a fine job in this regard, and I could make some recommendations.
