You are bidding on a 1953 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop. The last year for the famous Flathead V8 Engine. This car has a current Oklahoma tag and title. It is running and will drive. It does need to be finished and should be trailered home. I bought 2 cars at the same time and have decided to sell one. I don’t need so many projects. It has been repainted a very pretty white with green top, the quality of the paint is very good. The engine and transmission were both overhauled. The engine runs good and the Mercamatic transmission shifts like it should. I have had it on a rack and the underneath side looks good and appears as rust was only a minor issue when the body work was done. The front and rear bumpers have been rechromed, and look great. I was told it cost $2,500 to rechrome the bumpers. Now here is what I know it needs. Complete interior refurbished, seats and side panels are there, all the chrome on the inside needs to be replated, the tail lights and the chrome pieces on the exterior need replating. It appears that all the stainless is there and should polish up great. It needs tires and I would probably redo the brakes, they work but feel soft. The wiring needs replacing as well as the exhaust. One rear side window needs replacing. I am sure I have missed something. Call or email me and I will try to answer your questions.
