Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 3/4 ton Longbed 1982 Toyota Pickup Truck with `170k miles on it, something you won't see often. It has a 5 speed transmission and the heavy duty Toyota springs, larger tires, and rear end found only on the 3/4 ton models. It has never been involved in an accident, and at least under my watch has been well cared for. I bought it when it had a little over a 100k miles on it from the original owner. My brother-in-law, and a few of his buddies who restore antique cars, painted it for me a few years ago. They used no bondo anywhere, and replaced the hood and passenger side fender with new ones to get rid of dents done by children; the windshield seal was also replaced at that time. I changed the headlights and grill to that of an 81 model, which I prefer; they can be changed back easily. I also bought a new OEM Dash pad, probably the last in the country, and had it installed last year along with a new OEM tailgate; I never got around to the bedliner, although it does have a plastic bedliner. It had new tires about three months ago, a new timing chain, water pump, clutch, and fuel pump last November. So why am I selling it? The carburetor float bowl drains over night making it hard to start in the morning, although once it has started it is fine for the rest of the day. A rebuilt carburetor costs $450, and who knows how much it would cost to get it installed. Other things it needs are: the AC does not work, and never has; some of the components are missing, and there is a small tear in one of the seats. There is also a small dent in the roof corner where a limb hit it. I am far busier than I used to be and don't have time to work on anything myself. If you can, or want to pay someone else, to have the carburetor fixed you'll have a great truck; I have really enjoyed it. You will be hard pressed to find a vintage Toyota truck with a nicer more solid body. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have; I may know the answer. This is a no reserve auction; I do have a "Buy It Now", and hope I have set it high enough that you don't get a steal. It will also be for sale locally on Craigslist when I get around to it, so it may sell before auction end that way. I'll be uploading more pictures this afternoon, so please look again. If you are local, I would love for you to come by, drive it, and have a look.
