Vehicle Detail
This is a Volkswagon Golf from 1989 in manual transmission and is blue. That much we can all see from the pictures. the vehicle was not smoked in at all. What you cant see is that there is little to no rust under the hood or underneath the car. the car shifts and brakes well. the engine is in fine condition and if properly treated and taken care of, as well as FIXED UP, this car will put another hundred thousand on the odometer. which brings us to the bad news, of which there is a weency bit. other than a wheel alignment for starters the control arms for the front tires need to be replaced. the brakes cables as well need to be replaced and the drivers side door has a busted lock so that to keep it closed the button must be down. this car does have little things wrong with it that do need to be dealt with, it will turn on and drive when asked with no problems. the tires themselves and brakes are less than a year old and in good condition. the transmission is fine, and i change the oil once a month no matter what. you can also see from the photos that there is no stereo. sorry, thats how i bought it. there is also no air conditioning, but the heater works great after warm up. this is one of the last editions of this car that were entirely electro mechanical with no computer stuff so that parts will be cheaper. this is a great first car...or last car really for those who want to learn the dying art of manual or a good project car for those who want to tinker. Lastly, the title on this car says it was formerly abandoned in the great state of Vermont and it's been reconstruced. i suspect a mechanics lein as there is no rust or seeming fire/flood damage. upon completion of the sale you will be responsible for arranging shipping and transport as required. thanks. update 5.july.2010 there was no lien placed on the car.
