Vehicle Detail
The car runs excellently, and sounds super strong. It drives incredibly well with no problems. In 2005 it passed Colorado emissions easily (have not had to get it checked again because it is a collector car). Starts with starter fluid in cold weather or when not driven for a while. Once it goes it goes! Transmission seems perfect, brakes are solid, and the car was converted to take unleaded gasoline with a previous owner. Since I have owned it I have only ever put premium unleaded in the tank! I have owned the vehicle since June 2005 and have put approximately 2500 miles on it. I have had the alternator and fuel filter replaced, put a new battery in it (less than 3 weeks old), and put new tires on it (less than 200 miles on tires-photo included). It could be a daily driver or refurbished to be the collector car of your dreams! I believe it is all original and stock with the exception of the twin chrome tail pipes. AM radio with 8 track player (I am not sure if they work). Electric windows work, passenger's side goes slow but works fine, driver's side works well but needs to be slightly pressed on to ensure it seats when raised. Rear windows do not seem to work. Cartier clock does not work. Gas guage does not work. Auto headlight dimmer does not work. I do not know how to operate the cruise control. The washer fluid works intermittently. What does work well is the power steering, power brakes, power seats, all indicator lights and headlamps/high beams as does the remote side view mirror adjustment. The rear window defogger and windshield wipers work. Additionally, the air conditioning and heat works great! This car was truly top shelf in 1969! The exterior is a little rough. Approximately 2 weeks ago, the soft top began to tear. A portion approximately 1 ft square is missing, the rest has been re-adhered to minimize additional tearage. It needs to be replaced. The metal is good under the top. The olive green paint is sun faded and should be repainted. The only rust spot I could find was in the driver's-side rear wheel, approximately 4 sq. inches (photo included). The body is overall very straight. There is a noticeable dent in the front right quarter panel and some white paint transfer from bumping into a garage door. There is a dent on the top of the hood where snow slid off the roof into the hood. Both dents are noticeable but should be easy for a body mechanic to fix. Almost all of the beautiful chrome is in oustanding shape and shines like it just came off the assembly line. There are minor dents and scratches at various places on the car, understandable due to it being 41 years old. The interior in overall condition is very good, all in olive green! The headliner looks new. The rear seating area looks near new. The front seats looks good. The dash board has been covered since I purchased it, but there are no cracks that I have found and looks to be in near perfect condition. Glass is good all around although the rubber seals around the glass could be replaced. Seat belts are in good condition. The only really noticeable blemish to the interior is the driver's door arm rest has approximately 2 inches of damaged vinyl (photo included). Carpet and rubber mats are in excellent condition. I purchased it from the second owner in 2005 (after issuing a parking citation to it as a police oficer). The second owner advised he had owned the car for approximately one year, and had purchased it from an elderly lady who literally drove it to and from church. The odometer at that time showed approximately 16,000 miles and the second owner assured me it had only rolled over once. He was friends with he original owner who died shortly after. This car should has only 118000 miles but runs like it has 50000. I occasionally drive the vehicle so mileage may vary, but will be within 300 miles of the current odometer reading (photo). The car has been adult owned for all 41 years, and has never been raced or driven hard. As previously mentioned, this could be used as a daily driver, or with a little paint and a new top, you could begin to restore it to its original glory. I live near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Approximately three hours from Denver or Grand Junction. For transport purposes it can be delivered to anywhere on the Colorado front range (Cheyenne, WY to Pueblo, CO), nearly anywhere in the Colorado or Wyoming mountains and to parts of Eastern Utah. Otherwise you may pick-up the car in Steamboat Springs, CO. Certainly shipping is available, and we can discuss driving up to 500 miles and I can drop it off at an airport (if you purchase a one-way ticket for me to return to Denver). I am pretty flexible and want you to be happy with your purchase! I am also attempting to sell the vehicle locally and reserve the right to cancel the listing at any time prior to the end of this listing. Colorado title is clear and in-hand, ready for transfer. A deposit in the amount of $300 is expected within 72 hours of the close of auction. The car will be delivered or released upon completion of payment and bank confirmation of funds transfer. I work a graveyard shift and may return calls in the evening hours, so please let me know when the best time to reach you is. Thanks and happy bidding!!!On Jul-02-10 at 15:56:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note the mileage on the vehicle is 118,884, not 18,884. My apologies for anybody who bid who thought it was the lower number. Ebay will not let me change the listing now...
