1941 Rat Rod Let me start out by saying that the only thing on this ride that is 1941 is the cab, everthing else has either been built new or ordered brand new. Let me start out with the cab which has been chopped. The truck is shaved on the out side, and you do have to reach in and hit the inside door handle to open the doors, kind of an old school touch, but i did upgrade the door latch set up to bear claws to make the doors open a little bit easier. Has new front and back tint glass installed no side windows. The firewall on the truck is all custom built and smooth to give it that clean look, its also moved back but not much. The dash of the truck has all new gauges in a built 53 chevy style gauge cluster that is smoothed into the dash. It also has a kick down thats right under it that houses the light switch and the electric fan switch. The steering column is out of a late model car, with tilt, to make it a easier getting in and out of the truck, and the seats are the only things that i could find that would fit between the tunnel and me not having to make a set of custom seats. The chassis of the truck is a custom built tub chassis with a straight axle and disk brakes up front, and a s10 rearend with disk brakes as well, so the truck rides with 4 wheel disk brakes. The grill shell is fiberglass and was ordered new, it has an aluminum radiator and electric fan, the motor of the truck is a mild 350, something that was built to have fun with, nothing just crazy, it does have a aluminum intake with a brand new Holley 600 on it. The motor has a brand new set of block hugger headers which runs into a brand new set of flowmaster duel exhaust that go all the way out the back and turn down just behind the rear tires. It has a MSD coil, distributor, and ignition.The motor is backed with a 700R4, to give you that overdrive for better cruzing. The Shifter is a brand new lokar shifter from summit. Tranny pan will drip if it sets up for a while. But its only 16 bolts and a 4 dollar gasket. The bed for the truck, is all brand new and hand built, it was a lot easier to build a new one then to fix the little bit of rust and then cut the bed down to the right size i wanted, but the bed is finished out with wood, and has a brand new fuel tank from Speedway Motors. All the wiring and lights, are all brand new, it has a easy wire kit in it, and the headlights also came from speedway motors. This is a nice ride for weekend rides.
