Ford 1948 Woody Station Wagon, 100 bhp. 239.4 cu. in. flathead V8 engine, three-speed manual transmission, solid front axle and live rear axle with transverse semi-elliptic leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 114". Car has had just two owners, both of whom resided on Nantucket Island, MA, and kept the car on the island. In 1969 the original engine was replaced with another, correct flathead V8. More recently, the engine was sent to New York to be rebuilt. It runs very well and without any issues, diverging from original specification only with the fitment of an updated 12-volt electrical system with electronic ignition, bringing drivability to a more modern standard. Work conducted on the car in its current ownership of over 40 years is supported by receipts included in the sale, as is a reproduction of owner's manual. The car was also recently refinished in Glade Green with a correct brown interior and refurbished top. The wood is in excellent condition and has been re-varnished every year, as mandated by the Ford Owner's Manual. Features of note include an electric fan belt motor, fog lights and a new AM/FM radio discreetly hidden in the glove compartment. Car can be picked up in Cape Cod.
