A rare 1979 VW Beetle convertible - the last year they made the real beetle. Triple White edition made only one year for the classic beetle. Very rare factory air conditioning. Body in very good condition, floor boards are perfrct. The convertible top and liner are approximately one year old and interior is excellent. Car runs and drives great! In January of 1980 there were 518 cars made. This car was one of the very last beetles made. I think it was 129th from the end. Early in 1979 the news started to spread that this was finally the last year of production for the Beetle convertible. This created a huge backlog of orders at the Karmann plant. Production that was supposed to end July 31, 1979 was kept up until January 1980 to fill the thousands of orders that poured in from around the world. But on that fateful day (January 10, 1980) the last Super Beetle, a triple-white convertible, rolled off the production line and into history forever. For street legal vehicles, you may consider to fly in and drive home. All shipping is at the winning bidder's expense. All paperwork must be signed and money received, before the vehicle can leave. Our prefered method of payment is a certified, cashier's, bank check, cash in person or bank wire transfer. We do accept the $500.00 deposit through Pay-Pal. The only addition would be if you are an Alabama resident you will be responsible for 3.75% tax and a title fee of $16.50. I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time for any reason.
