Vehicle Detail
What we have here is a 1975 Plymouth Fury Custom Suburban Wagon (much like the Brady Bunch wagon), I guess you could say somewhat of a survivor in need of restoration. It's equipped with a V8 400 engine, automatic transmission, A/C, Cruise, luggage rack and 3rd rear seat. This wagon has been in our family for over 20 years and I believe we're the 3rd owner. This is a CA car and it's been in N. Ca near the OR border since 1990, and not in use since about 1996; the master cylinder began to leak and my elderly father parked it but only kept it running for a few years after that. The car ran and drove very well when it was parked, and the transmission had recently been rebuilt, but it's clear that sitting has taken it's toll and it needs a lot of work to get running and rolling again. I did attempt starting but the electrical has failed and no connection was able to be made. To get running it will very likely need a battery, wiring harness, many if not all main hoses and belts replaced, a full tune-up, tires, fluids, and a master cylinder. The good news is it's almost if not completely original inside and out, I don't think it's ever been in an accident, and the interior needs a thorough cleaning but aside from regular age/wear there are no rips or tears but there is some surface rust near the 3rd seat. It appears these old wagons are getting some attention again and I think this one could be a great restore project, I would do it myself but there are 4 others that are running in need of similar work. I can and will probably post more pics of the interior, but if there's something you'd like to see let me know and I'll do my best. Also, it's been registered non-op all this time so there are no back fees due aside from the cost of registration. For this auction, the car will need to be paid for and picked up by 10:00am on 6/27 at the latest, as we're only at the property until that time.
