Vehicle Detail

41 Chevy Truck Info 1941 AK Chevy ½ Ton Truck Restored to Street Rod/Hot Rod - Local Show Award Winner This is a really cool and fun truck. Great for cruise nights and local shows and always gets lots of attention (along with other people’s stories about when they or their dad or grandpa used to have one similar to it). The hard work (frame, body and drive train installation was done by a professional rod shop). There is one picture of the truck in it’s stripped condition with the cab back on the frame. Frame off – cleaned, one rust spot repaired, primed and painted. Built 350 Motor (.30 over) runs great. Summit Racing mild cam New Hugger Headers New Starter New Choke New Alternator New Distributor New Electric Fan (Motor runs 180 degrees) New Chrome Valve Covers, Air Cleaner Automatic 350 Turbo transmission Original front suspension Flipped to lower the stance of the truck. New bearings and King pins New Front End Alignment New disk brakes on front – new pads on drum brakes on rear 9” Ford rear end with all new gears (3.50 ratio) Body had patch on right front and rockers on both sides were replaced. Old gas tank inlet patched. Cowl opening had been welded shut so no cowl vent now. Fenders from two trucks give you very straight, ALL STEEL fenders all around and NOT filled with Bondo. Bed tailgate was welded shut so it doesn’t open. New bed frame built out of 1” square tubing, raised about 2” New diamond plate bed liner and tailgate cover. New 11 gallon spun aluminum gas tank. New diamond plate lockable tool box (opens from either side). New battery (located inside the tool box) New Pacer Chrome Wheels New TA Radial Tires New Dolphin Gauge Cluster New Turn Signals New wiring New head lights and tail lights New Louvered Rear Roll Pan and New License Plate Holder Dual exhaust New Wiper and Wiper Motor (Electric, not vacuum) New Interior Rearview Mirror New Exterior Peep Mirrors New Carpet New Window Channels and Window Regulator overhaul (both sides roll up and down nicely). Bucket Seats are both in excellent condition (one tear in lower right side panel of passenger seat) New Cab weather stripping around doors. Doors close nice and tight. Driver’s side door handle does need a new return spring. Passenger side door handle needs new ferrule installed – ferrule and ferrule tool included. New Overhead Cab Insulation – No headliner, but bows are there. The grill is in excellent condition. It could easily be chrome plated with one place (pictured) that would need a little work and a couple of fins that aren’t quite perfect…both easy fixes. Gas gauge is not hooked up. I do have the new sending unit for it but you would need to have someone weld a new bung in the bottom of the tank for it and I have not had that done. It is an eleven (11) gallon tank. New Diamond Plate Running Board Step Plates. The running boards themselves are in excellent condition. The truck runs great, starts every time and drives out fine, especially for a 69 year old truck. She is an old truck though, so you shouldn’t be expecting the ride of a new Silverado or F150. The old gal will give someone a lot of fun and she was worth the time and trouble to save her from sure death. The paint is NOT primer. The top is a silver metal flake but I’ll be darned if I can get it to show up in the pictures. It sparkles really nice in the sunlight though. The bottom is Hot Rod Black Satin with a little flattener and hardener added. The paint job is fine the way it is, great 5-10 footer, maybe even a professional “cut and buff” to make it shine more if that’s what you’re going for. A couple times over block sanded and you can put an even nicer higher end paint job on it, which is what most people will want to do, I just couldn’t decide on a final color at the time of the build. There is one picture (the silver/blue picture) that is there simply as an example of what she could look like in a different bottom color. There is some de-lamination (discoloring along bottom of glass about ½”) in the two windshield halves and the rear window and you will probably want to replace those at some point. It’s flat glass and should run under $150 at a local glass shop. They aren’t broken and function fine the way they are. (Good easy winter project). The side glass is fine on both sides. Mileage shown in gauges picture is accurate from the build/restoration. Clear title shows the 10 miles on it that it had when it was inspected. It is the original VIN for the truck, although the Kansas DOT required a new VIN plate. There is an old, partially legible VIN plate under the hood on the right hand side and the numbers that are legible match the new plate and title. There is no warranty, expressed or implied and the truck is being sold as is, where is. Please feel free to call me with questions (620-960-1384) anytime, day or evening. If you want a third party inspection, call to make arrangements. NO OUT OF COUNTRY BIDS (OTHER THAN CANADA) WILL BE ALLOWED AND ANY BIDS OUTSIDE THE US WILL BE CANCELLED AS SOON AS I SEE THEM. Ok, I’ve tried to tell you what I know about the truck and list everything I can think of. The rest is up to you. Thanks and good luck.
