Vehicle Detail
2005 Honda Rebel CMX 250C electric start with 10938 miles. VIN: JH2MC13015K105191 (actual engine cc is 234). This is a great bike, but after forty years of riding motorcycles I’ve decided to quit so someone gets a super deal. I bought this bike in 2005 almost new and it has given me 9,000 miles of trouble free riding. It has been regularly maintained and my records on oil changes, etc. are in the manual. Just last month I had brand new tires put on both the front and back (they still have the new tire spines), new front brake pads, and a new air intake element. If you are looking for a nice commuter, weekend runabout, or just a good motorcycle in general then this is your bike. I rode it down from Illinois about four years ago (just over 300 miles) and it had no trouble handling the interstates. It will top out at 70 to 75mph on flat level ground with no head wind and will still do 65 with a head wind, but it is not a big hog so don’t figure on cruising the interstates with it all the time. You can buy it and ride it home if you don’t mind a sore back, rear end and right hand from holding the throttle open. It doesn’t have cruise control. I’ve taken lots of pictures (see bottom of page for enlarged photos) and if you want a picture of something I didn’t think to include just let me know. It was partly cloudy the day I took them, but most came out pretty good. I cleaned her up for these photos, but if you are a neat freak you can see there is some accumulated grit and grime I did not get and if you want you can really make this bike shine. I added a driver back rest, Viper windshield, battery maintenance/charger connection, St Lun removable trunk, and leather throw over saddle bags (all pictured) and all go with the bike, including the 6-12volt charger/maintainer (also pictured). This bike is ready to ride and it has never been on the ground, no dents or dings in the fuel tank and no road rash as you see in most used bikes. Everything is there and everything works, including the original tool kit. If you don’t like the trunk or the back rest they will come off in short order and you can ride two on it again, but I always rode by myself so I fixed it up for my comfort. That windshield is really nice on the highway and on cold days. The saddle bags can be mounted under the passenger seat if you don't want to use them as throw over bags. All of the add-ons, trunk, windshield, saddlebags, charger, backrest, together with the new tires, air filter element, and front brake pads are easily worth $600.00. Look them up and you'll see what I mean. I'm not looking to make any money on this sale, because it has long since paid for itself, but I want to recieve a fair price. Look up the specifications and pricing on the new Rebels and you'll see this is a good buy. This bike should give you many years and miles of service so long as you keep up the maintenance. I only used synthetic oil in it and always added Marvel Miracle oil to the gas when I filled it. In town it gets 80 mpg consistently and at least 50 to 60 mpg on the road, maybe more, but then I haven’t had it on the road that much to really give you a good estimate. When it comes to mileage it definitely likes running around in town better than the highway. Two helmets (pictured) go with the bike and although they are far from new and have some scratches they are helmets If you live or have a drop off place within 250 miles of Louisville, KY, according to Yahoo Maps, and you don’t want to mess around getting it licensed and insured to ride it home, or truck it, then I can deliver it for thirty-five cents a mile, but it will have to be on a Saturday or my extra day off which comes up every other Friday. We can figure that out when you buy it, but just so you know that if you want me to deliver it I might have to delay a few days to reach a Saturday or day off. When I bought it from a guy in Tennessee I borrowed a truck with straps to bring it back to Illinois and had no problems.
