Grandpa's Old Mercury Cougar! As you can see it has not been driven in a while. This is not really a Barn Find but more of a Garage Find with that Barn Find concept. This car was parked in 1981, last registration sticker on License Plate. There was no reason for parking the car other than Grandpa could no longer drive. But, since it has been sitting for 30 years be prepared to do a lot of mechanical work. I have found two pictures in the Estate that show the car in front of the house many years ago, these will go with the car along with any other photos I find of the car. The car was bought new in Modesto, Ca. and has been there it's whole life and today it still sits in the same garage that it sat when bought new. As you can see I have NOT washed the car because I wanted to give the new owner the excitement of seeing this cleaned up for the first time in about 30 Years! Unless you the bidders would rather me wash it for better photos, let me know what you think, Wash or Not? The pictures should explain this car pretty well... All original 1970 Cougar XR7, 289 Engine, Automatic, 94,563 original miles. No Rust, as far as can tell this is very rust free although the gas tank might has damage, not sure. Original Interior, one small seem split on drivers seat. The Interior is nice and NOT dried out, This interior is in excellent condition with NO sun damage to dash or clear plastic, NO bad smells inside either. The Vinyl top will need to be redone. The body seems to have been repainted on drivers side, I think old Grandpa hit the fence post backing out once and that was repaired and painted. This car is sold, "as is", and there is no warranty for anything regarding the car. You are responsible for transportation.
