Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1978 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport. Only 11,902 of these are made so this will soon be a rare car. It is a project however. Please read the list of facts are below and watch the video before bidding. I bought this car a few months ago as a project car but then decided I wanted something even older so I am now posting this up for sale to raise money for a different project. I have done nothing with this since I have bought it except put transmission fluid in it and install a brand new air cleaner and linkage cord. -2 owner car -Exterior is Red/Black -Hard top coupe -Sat for 6-7 years before I bought it -V8 Chevy 350 (pretty sure it's original) (gets approx. 15 MPG) -NEW Edelbrock 14" air cleaner -Automatic TH350 Transmission (pretty sure it's original) -Power steering -Power breaks -Power windows (switch was taken out) -This was an A/C option car but part of the unit was taken off the motor -Speedometer doesn't work but the other meters do (tachometer works when car is turned on but goes back to 1500 RPMs when it is turned off) -Leather seats? (whatever was stock for Rally Sports) -All lights inside and out work as well as turn signals -Stereo system has been taken out but still has Pioneer speakers -No cracks in the dash except for the part covering the speedometer, etc. -Back window dash is rotted -All glass is good as well as the trim, no rust -Center console is is okay except for some cigarette burns and the lid is broken off -Drivers seat has quite a few tears but the passenger seat and the back seats are good -Rear frame rails are rusty but there (have driven it around a town a few times and it handles the bumps fine) -Tires are kinda junk but hold air fine -Gas tank has a small dent on the bottom but does not leak at all -Don't have a key for the doors or trunk -(The exterior can be seen in the photos) Also, the runs and drives but has some kinks that need fixed. This video in the link below shows them. Video Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-cBUMKY1BM *There are a couple of kinks that this video doesn't show. When the car is in Drive, half the time the car gets stuck in First gear and takes some stomping on the gas to get it to shift. Also, after recording this video, I backed it up onto a hill to take the pictures and the exhaust pipe dug up some dirt so that will need to be cleaned out before driving it any long distance. However, it still starts and runs so it can be driven onto a trailer. I have described this vehicle to the best of my ability. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. This car IS up for sale locally so I do reserve the right end the auction early if it is sold, but don't let that stop you from bidding as I am not advertising it locally. This car will need to be picked up. I will not ship the car. I have the title and key in hand but remember that this is a project car. This car can be driven on the road (I drove about once a week) but it cannot be driven home with the exhaust clogged like it is. Happy Bidding!!! It just stays open all the way, so I tied it in such a way that it won't quit, but you can't punch the gas either. It's fine as it is, but you have to ease on the gas when accelerating. I drove for about half an hour with no problems whatsoever. You'll either want to rebuild the carburetor or get a new one either way. The muffler is being left off because it wasn't put on right anyway and wasn't muffling anything. I'll let the buyer put it on the right way or do whatever they want with it. Now for the not so good news. I'm not sure if I forgot to mention this in the video or not, but a few of the hoses have been disconnected from the carburetor. From what I know, it's just the vacuum hoses. Either way, hoses are not very expensive so this will be a cheap and easy fix. I'll try to post a video and link of video up soon of the vehicle driving. And once again, HAPPY BIDDING!!! On Jun-08-10 at 17:14:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Update #2: GOOD NEWS!!! I am now going to accept shipping that the buyer will be responsible. I will only accept shipping methods that abide by E bay's guidelines. On Jun-12-10 at 13:05:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Update #3: GOOD NEWS!!! I have uploaded a "Driving" video of the Camaro that you are bidding on. Hope this peaks your interest.
