1974 Pontiac Super Duty, 4 speed, matching numbers, 1 of only 212 "W8" 4 speed cars. 3.42 : 1 Posi Rear End. Original Arizona "X" SD coded Trans Am. Admiralty Blue with Trim 761, power steering, power brakes, tilt, AM radio, hood decal, with rally wheels. One of the very few surviving Super Duty 4 speeds in existence. The body was stripped to metal and the engine rebuilt. The body panels are original Arizona rust free and are perfectly aligned. The car was professionally painted and buffed and has only minor surface scratches. This Super Duty runs and looks great and has been in storage since the restoration.On Jun-09-10 at 18:41:20 PDT, seller added the following information: To the many questions regarding the 4 spd and the number on the center runner on the heads. To verify an original 4 speed super duty on the front right of the block just below the head there is a two digit code. The code for a four speed is "W8", for an automatic it would be "Y8". This Trans Am Super Duty is an original 4 spd car W8, not an automatic Y8. I will try to post a picture of the code before the auction ends. The number 16 is clear on one of the pictures already posted. It used to verify and document a Super Duty and is cast on the center runners. The center runners do not form a V, they come straight out from the head. The last eight digits of vin preceded by the number 2 is stamped into the block and does match the vin. The numbers are clearly visible. The valve cover decal designating super duty is also in one of the pictures.
