The W8 model is the top-of-the-line 8 cylinder passat and features Volkswagen's unique "W8" engine. This car was the test bed for the W12 engine used in the Phaeton and Audi A8, and the legendary 1000 horsepower W16 in the Bugatti Veyron Supercar. Very Rare Car. Now, a little about the history of this specific Passat. This car was just traded into us on an Audi A6. We are offering the car on an as-traded basis. I have driven the car around town, and it seems to drive fine. The previous owners told me that the transmission was recently replaced. We know nothing more about the car than this. The car has a recent oil change sticker from a Volkswagen dealer which would indicate that scheduled maintenance is current. The black leather seats are in good shape, as are the dash and the carpets. The drivers seat has very light wear and is not very noticable. The car has Volkswagen's climatronic automatic climate control which works properly. The cabin is illuminated with beautiful blue and red backlit buttons and red ambient lighting. The gauges are blue and red electroluminescent. There are very nice Volkswagen "Monster Mat" rubber floor mats. This car has Monsoon audio with CD and Cassette. It works and sounds awesome. For safety, this Passat has, of course, dual front airbags, as well as front side airbags, and Sideguard side curtain aibags for the front and rear passengers. The car includes two original keys. The original window sticker is included. The outside of this Passat is beautiful and is finished in bright Reflex Silver. There are some fine scratches on the rear bumper which you'd expect on a car of this age. They are very hard to show in photos, but I have done my best. They are not major. This car has not been inspected by a mechanic. I will simply post my impressions from driving it. The car accelerates nicely. The engine sounds good. The transmission shifts properly. No warning lights are illuminated. The car stops straight, but there is surface rust on the front brake rotors. Simple driving may clear this up, otherwise it will need new front brake rotors. The tires have greater than 50% tread left and are matching Continentals. All accessories have been tested and work. Including heated seats, air conditioning, and cruise control. The rear seat ash tray is broken and remains open all the time. The carpet is dirty in some places and could use a brisk vacuum. Please be patient while over 40 high-resolution photos load below.
