Vehicle Detail
I must unfortunately part with my 89 240SX. I really wanted to restore this car but I have come to realize that I just dont have the resources. I am the second owner of this car (my wife was the first). The interior is complete and in pretty good shape, I pulled it out and placed it in storage in order to better preserve the car by keeping moisture levels down. The dash is perfect (most of them from this year are full of cracks). It is mostly stock with the exception of a Pacesetter brand ceramic coated long tube header, hollowed out cat and a Pacesetter cat-back exhaust system. It is also missing the stock stereo and speakers. It will come with a complete stock exhaust including a new cat to swap out for state inspection. The good; It is a first model year 240SX S13 fastback! I have taken the best care of this car that I could since 1995, only used Mobil 1. The Bad; It is rusty, about as rusty as you would expect a 21 year old New Jersey car to be so its going need some sheetmetal work and minor frame repair (see pics). There is a hole in the frame by the exhaust downtube due to a lack heat shielding but a plate can be welded over it. The rocker panels, lower quarters and hatch are the body parts that need to be addressed as well as some holes in the floor. One corner is broken off the passenger side door handle and there are some scratches on the drivers side window. You will want to rebuild or replace the engine and trans, or of course do a complete swap with one of Nissans higher performance drive trains. It was taken off the road about 4 years ago because it failed inspection for NOX(emissions, it might have been the injectors) and I just didnt have the time or money to work on it. It was started and moved around regularly until about a year ago when a brake line started leaking. This car will take a good amount of work to restore but Im sure someone out there has enough respect for this legendary classic drift car that it will be worth it. I will help with loading the vehicle as much as I can but the buyer must make all arrangements for pickup. Please feel free to ask any questions. I reserve the right to end this auction early as the vehicle is for sale locally as well.
