ONE AWESOME AUTOMOBILE – A TRUE CLASSIC! FORD.............The man Henry and the car bearing his name are a big part of American history. Even today, Ford stands alone, taller then its competitors, on solid ground. During the 'car years' of the 60's the Ford Galaxie 500Xl was a celebration of the finest automobiles. 1968 was a banner year. Ford captured over 20 NASCAR checkered flags with driver David Pearson taking the overall championship. In USAC competition, Ford pilot A.J. Foyt was the top driver of the year. Cale Yarborough also made racing history this year. These were the most exciting years with Ford leading the pac.......the cars, the drivers, the fever pitch excitement are all part of fond memories. The car offered here, even to a more discriminating buyer is one of the finest in the land. It belonged to the Mayor of Vehicle City. It was maintained and kept in a temperature controlled garage. Very few come close to its quality. It is well priced, an excellent value. It has all the factory installed options still in place. They include the famous code Q Thunderbird 428 V-8 with 340 horsepower, power windows, cruise control and ICE COLD air conditioning. This is an awesome automobile In 1968 the XL was the right car to own, and it still is, especially with the above named options. The 500 XL was the sport version of the 500 series. It was dressed to the hilt with bucket seats, front console, hideaway headlights and for an added touch of luxury...............chrome trim on the foot pedals. I include 50 plus pictures showing all parts of the car. In real life, it is just as nice as the pictures. It most certainly is ready to display at the finest shows. It is also ready to cruise at any speed. The imperfections are few and far between. From top to bottom, inside and out it is a beautiful automobile. The body is razor straight, black, brilliant and just as shiny as the day it left the factory - 40 plus years ago. The sheet metal is original with all factory seams intact. The power convertible top is also in excellent condition. It goes up and down just like it did when it was new. The dual exhaust reflects on the flawless rear bumper. This is a car you can drive and enjoy. The powerful 428 engine is original. Study the engine and compartment pictures in order to judge its care. The engine is very responsive. It shifts through the gears effortlessly. It is comfortable and handles well with a smooth ride. A lot of thumbs up follow you on the open road and on city streets. Where do you find one as nice as this? This is an opportunity to own a genuine, excellent value automobile. It is priced well below the N.A.D.A average rated value of $17,700, plus, this is not an average automobile. It is rated between average and high. All in all, a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a true classic. MY THOUGHTS I did my best to present this vehicle to you just the way it is in real life. It will look great in the finest garage and compliment any collection. Don't miss your opportunity to own it.
