1959 Chevy pick up. 235 six cylinder , standard shift.The odometer is showing 65000 miles . Could be 5 hundred and sixty five thousand miles or 165000. I don't know the actual miles on this one. The engine has been rebuilt at some point but not sure when, belts and hoses look ok. The motor is clean on the inside, I had the side cover, valve cover and oil pan off to inspect, looks like new pistons from the bottom, adjusted vavles and buttoned it back up and crused it a little,just drove it 75 miles round trip to a car show , drove great.Has good power for a 235 banger. Clutch is good, shifter is SLOPPY but usable if you ever driven old cars and trucks before, its not a speed shifter by no means but if you shift it slow it works ok. Brakes are good. I had no intentions of using the stock six and three speed or rearend so it didn't matter to me about the condition of the running gear when I bought it but upon further inspection it turned out to be in good shape, I have since aquired another project so the truck gets pushed aside or sold. Wiring looks ok , looks pretty simple, been converted to 12 volt. Tires look good but are old on aluminum wheels. You could drive this truck and get some service out of it if you wanted to. It has been out service for a couple of years, just parked waitng on 383 with a 700 R4 but It never did get it and I bought it just like you see it. It is what it is, just an old Chevy truck that's in pretty good shape and would make a nice piece with $ome dough and TLC. My plans were an LS 3 with 4L65E trans and a nine inch rear with disc brakes all around and upgrade suspension, new wood for the bed, leave the rest alone and just drive it. Body is straight with very little rust (see pics). Glass is in good condition and windows roll up and down. Please call me if you have any questions 901-335-6350.
