This is a 1979 Mercedes Benz 240 Diesel with a 4 speed fuel efficient manual transmission and sunroof. The engine starts right up and sounds as healthy as can be. An updated glow plug system (relay, new set of glow plugs, etc) were just installed, so she heats up and starts quickly. The acceleration is positive and the car runs extremely well. The clutch feels great and she shifts effortlessly through all the gears. This Mercedes handles great, stops superbly, and is a solid everyday driver. The mechanical, electrical systems, and climate control systems are in good condition. The air conditioning blows ice cold air. The power sunroof opens and closes nicely. The manual windows go up and down like they should without having to ever deal with faulty window switches, regulators, or motors. The steering and suspension are in good working order. Cosmetically the car looks fantastic. The body, chassis, and frame are 100% solid and rust free. The car is finished in a gorgeous and unique color, not sure of the name but it is in between peach/apricot. Overall she shines beautifully throughout. There are minimal dings, chips, scratches, nicks, etc. All of the chrome looks great! The grill is complete with no missing trim. The matching hubcaps, wheels, and tires are all in good condition with significant tread remaining. The dash is near perfect with the exception of one tiny crack near the passenger speaker grill. These cars were built to good, even with nearly 200,000 miles they are still barely even broken in. This car actualy has relatively low miles averaging just over 6,000 miles per year. The wood and instrument panel are nice and user friendly. There are no major imperfections on the seating surfaces. The car has a nice aftermarket am/fm/cd player.Clean trunk compartment with a full size spare tire.This is a prime example on how a Mercedes should look, run, and drive.
