Up for Auction is a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, Se coupe. All Custom. I am the second owner since 2003. Never had any serious issues mechanically until recently. This has been a fantastic project car. I have been working on it for quite sometime now. Originally silver, I have used black resin to protect the outside and was in the process of sanding it down. Some of the things I have fabricated include: · I have fabricated a body kit for the front, rear, and sides. There are minor breaks in it due to settling, but nothing serious. · Installed a one of a kind spoiler · I was trying to go for a seemless look. So I fiberglassed all the seems where pieces of the car meet. · There are no longer sunfire taillights. Instead are mustang taillights fabricated into the bumper. · Upon close inspection there are shaved door handles and trunk lock. It is all door poppers. There is a battery in the trunk of the car specifically for the poppers. Under the back of the bumper is an emergency release in case the door popper button was inside the car. So there is always a way in. · There are fabricated fender flares, I custom made. · My father-in-law and I installed a sunroof as well as power windows. · The shifter is on the dash board with the stereo on the floor of the car. As you will see in the pictures I was designing a custom interior. In the CRAPPY BASIC stage. · There is no dashboard, cigarette lighter (wires are there) airbags, or glovebox · There are no back seats, the seatbelts are present but not hooked up. All that is left are 2 front seats. · I have four speakers with a cd player. Nothing fancy. · I have fabricated a steering wheel to fit the sunfire. Its 13” diameter, much smaller than the original. · The tires are a year old with alloy 14” rims. Now for the problems, it was driving fine even though there is a small oil leak under the vehicle; which can be easily fixed. The instrument cluster needs to be replaced. I cannot tell the mileage. I would say around 200,000 miles. I believe there is a head gasket leak. The thermostat has been replaced. When driving it, fluid burns off quickly. I don’t know exactly if the engine is shot or if the head gasket needs to just be replaced. Fortunately, I am pregnant. So fixing the car 7 months into the pregnancy seems a little ridiculous. So I am letting my project go to someone who may be able to fix it or laugh at it. Let me tell you, it’s a piece of work. There is a legitimate title; which is clear and paid off.
