Vehicle Detail

1931 Model A coupe. I do not know much about this car. It has been in barn since 1987. It is in very poor condition. Motor has not run since 1987; but all motor parts are there and intact. Same with the transmission. Clutch will engage and transmission can be shifted. Apparently the brake drums are from a 39 Ford and were converted because they were hydraulic. I pulled the starter to look at gears and fly wheel, surprising enough gears are still lubricated and not rusty internally. For whatever reason and I do not know why; but all of the bolts are turning and loosening fine considering how rusted it looks. Rear of car body is in the worst condition. Doors still work and latches work. Driver window still rolls up. Wood top is in still pretty good and solid condition; but canvas is poor condition. I manually moved front end steering and all still works together. Lights are in very good condition, the chrome is not even pitted. They polished up very nicely. Also has front bumper (can probably be sandblasted and will clean up nicely). Radiator also seems to be in alright condition. Has extra parts...extra carburator, drive shaft, differential gear. Window glass condition: windshield cracked, passenger large window gone, both smaller back side windows are good, and rear window is good. No reserve. BUT AGAIN... CAR IS IN VERY POOR CONDITION. You want one part, you have to take it all. the pictures will say 1000 words. Buyer must pick up car by June 26. Thanks for looking. On May-30-10 at 06:57:10 PDT, seller added the following information:The amount of the bids is concerning to me. I hoped that I emphasized the condition of the car and that it is in VERY POOR CONDITION; but let me emphasize the condition even more. The car is in VERY POOR CONDITION, VERY RUSTY (in an old barn since 1987. The engine has not run for 23 years, there is no interior, the seat and interior deteriorated and are no longer in existence, no steering wheel, a few wires sticking out of holes in the dash. Back part from rear window back (rear quarter panels,) and floor panels are rusty beyond repair. The floor boards under the driver and passenger seat must have completely rusted away and are non existant (you can see right through to the ground and transmission). The whole thing is rusty I do not think that there is anything salvageable on it except formaybe the radiator, lights, doors, motor, transmission, front part of frame and steering, possibly the wooden top, some windows and maybe the front part of the body.If anyone wants to withdraw your bids, please let me know by 1PM on Sunday, and I will get up with Ebay to see how to handle it or even relist it. If no one wants to reconsider, then I will let it ride. I just don't want any surprises when it is picked up. ThanksOn May-30-10 at 07:03:18 PDT, seller added the following information:Also the tires and rims are from a 39 Ford and definately no good or repairable either.
