Short of any buy it now buyers, this car will SELL to the high bid! Let's start the bidding at just $1...... Up for auction is a dealer trade in 1997 740il luxury sedan. The exterior is a light tan metallic and still shines up nicely. Interior is a light tan. It has a clean, clear title with no issues ready for another owner. I have driven this car around town and on the freeway and it still has tons of power and glides smooth and straight. With an original MSRP of around $75,000 USD, she came loaded and ready for the road! This car is still a nice little driver, especially considering what you can get for your money here on eBay motors versus shopping retail. We specialize in eBay sales because it is a fast and effective way to sell hundreds of cars at once to a larger audience than we have here locally. Walking around the car, it is quite clean. The paint is in good shape without any fading or clearcoat issues, and it is good looking from any angle. The car has some bumps and bruises- both bumpers have dings in the plastic and the front grill chrome is wired on because the plastic clips are broken- you don't notice this unless you get up close to the car. There is a ding over the front fender and along the rocker panel- nothing really major but worth noting. This car has classic BMW lines and a classic appeal. The tires are newer and the wheels are really clean. The fog lights are out- they are in the trunk- we have not tested them. The interior is also clean with leather seats, decent carpets, and door panels. The front seats and console show wear consistent with the mileage while the rear seats are cleaner than average. This is a true luxury car with advanced features like a built in CD changer, wood grain trim, power seats, and all the upgrades you would expect like tilt, cruise, etc. The trunk has tons of room- enough for 4 golf bags easily. The car also has a sunroof, traction control , and it has all power options including auto windows. The wood trim has some cracks in it- typical for the year- and above the shifter there is some wood missing. Mechanically it starts, runs strong, and drives nicely. The transmission shifts smoothly in all modes. There are no mechanical warnings or check engine lights. The car stops fine but you feel the brakes are a bit worn- there are a set of rotors in the trunk that the previous owner had apparently planned on installing. It also has seat covers and a car cover. Issues we did find in this used car: the airbag light is on and the blower does not turn on for A/C or heat-- they appear to be issues consistent with a 13 year old car. Again, these are not apparently major issues but noted because we like to be upfront and don't want surprises. Just because other dealers might not mention issues, you can expect minor issues here and there with ALL used cars. One more item we do not plan to repair but worth noting is that the dash readout is faded and pixelated which is more the standard than the exception with older bmw's. This is an issue most drivers just live with and we'd recommend you do the same as it is too costly to justify replacing unless you happen to find a used one from another car. This is a good driving, great looking 740il that you could fly in and drive home today. Likewise if you choose to have it transported you can take it off the truck and drive, drive, drive!
