Vehicle Detail
If you have been sitting on the fence about buying one of these military trucks then DO NOT DELAY. This is our last one and they are already GONE from all gov't auctions. The only ones you will find after this are ones other people have bought and, for whatever reason, decided they no longer want. 1986 Chevrolet D30 1-ton 4x4 HIGH OUTPUT J-CODE 6.2 DIESEL FOUR WHEEL DRIVE TEXAS NATIONAL GUARD TRUCK FRONT BRUSH GUARD CAMPER SHELL FRESH TIRES RUNS PERFECT DRIVE ANYWHERE Whether you want to go offroad, to the camp, or to the north slope of Alaska...you need look no further for the perfect ride to do it in than this '86 D30 Pickup. This is the heavy duty military-spec version that just came out of service from the Texas National Guard. It's service location also explains how this truck has practically NO RUST. We have pics of the bottom of the floorboards, rocker panels, kick panels, doglegs, and everywhere else you usually find rot and this one has almost NO ROT. Even if you don't buy one from us, be wary of units that have spent much time up in the Northeast where they rot out quickly from salt and other road contaminants. Now, you may be asking why the U.S. Goverment is selling a 76,058 mile vehicle with hundreds of thousands of miles of life left in it (not to mention the heavy duty mil-spec batteries still in place along with a new or practically new set of tires and a brand new (or like new) full size spare tire) at a time when we're trillions of dollars in debt, but hey...our nation's collective loss can be your individual gain! This military D30 pickup has been upgraded throughout the chassis heavy duty specs that were unavailable on civilian models. It even has the extra rear leaf spring only found on heavy duty-heavy duty military versions. It has a highly-desired Dana 60 axle up front and a GM 14-bolt in back...both with locking differentials for maximum traction. We have parted some of these out in the past and received over $1,000 for the front axle alone! We took it off-road behind my house to check it out and can verify that the four wheel drive system functions perfectly. They also installed a small solar battery charger on the hood to keep the batteries up. It also has the very desirable military-issue batteries and not just some civilian ones slapped in there to get by. Whenever one of these trucks needs maintenance it is done IMMEDIATELY since the military must ALWAYS be ready. We got a great buy on this truck that we're passing along to you in the form of a LOW PRICE that can't be beat. We wouldn't hesitate to get in this truck and drive it ANYWHERE. We'll even DRIVE it to you anywhere in the continental U.S. for a small fee. When we say this truck is ready to hit the road we aren't just whistling Dixie...we'll do it ourselves! This is powered by the legandary heavy duty non EGR J-code 6.2 Liter diesel engine. It produces 180horsepower versus the civilian model that makes 150hp. The heavy duty engine uses larger valves in the head, another special feature that you cannot get in a civilian Blazer. Basically it is a 1 ton version engine. On cold start up there is no smoke, not even when you full throttle it. It is probably the cleanest emissions older diesel we have ever driven. These engines are also factory dual exhaust, front to rear. Mechanically it is perfect, it needs nothing. The military has to be ready at all costs, so should something in the fleet need repairs it is fixed immediatly. Maintence is a top priority. It is still a dual battery 24 volt system. By driving it I know why they set them up that way. First off most of their equipment is a 24 volt, so it does have a slave plug on the front grille. They can pull up to a tank or whatever and jumpstart it with out opening up the hood. With that extra voltage it starts much faster then most 6.2 Liter diesels do. The glow plugs warm up faster and the starter motor turns the engine over faster also. The rest of the truck is 12-volt so no special equipment is required if you want to add a stereo or need to change a light bulb. Another neat feature is this, the military specially equipped the CUCV's with a bullet proof reliable TH400 automatic transmission with 4.56 gearing in the diferentials to allow you to run extra-tall tires. So the military had these special built for toughness and longevity. Good engine, good trans = one tough and dependable monster. We understand you are buying online, but with us you are not buying blind! We handwrite every single description. We provide 24+ high resolution pictures & we inspect and photo what you see and what you can't see. We'll also be glad to email you detailed, closeup pictures of any area you'd like to see more of. People ask us all the time what is the catch to our vehicles. They assume that the prices are low because there is something wrong with them. Nothing could be further from the truth! Our secret is simple...LOW OVERHEAD. We are an internet-only dealer. We do not maintain regular office hours or a large sales facility. We simply have a Mississippi bonded dealer's license, a storage lot, and a computer. Since we don't have dozens of mechanics, helpers, salesmen, secretaries, etc. on our payroll; we are able to sell at greatly reduced prices. You will notice that we sometimes go with private auctions. Our reasons are twofold...the latest scam is to send bogus 2nd chance offers to customers from a fake email address in an attempt to scam them out of money. With a private auction the scammers won't know who our bidders are so if you get a 2nd chance offer from us you will know that it is the real deal! In addition, we set our reserves to sell which upsets other sellers! In fact, sometimes we set our reserve $1,000 or more below what our cost is. This leads other sellers to email our customers and knock our product! We will provide the winning bidder, upon request, with a complete bid history including the usernames & bid amounts of all other bidders. All new or low feedback (under 5 positives) bidders must first email us for no other reason than just to make contact. This way we know we have serious bidders! If you don't make contact we will cancel your bid and black you out from future bidding. We do this to avoid the de@dbe@t bidders, so please respect our policy. If you have a rating of 5 or better you don't have to email us. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy our site and add us to your favorites, because you just never know when your dream vehicle will pop up!!! We've put this vehicle through our EXTENSIVE inspection process & can report it has a great ride & drive! We do our best to let you know of any/all issues we can find on these vehicles since you're buying sight-unseen. The only thing we'd nitpick is they hooked the glow plugs up to a manual relay so you just flip a switch and count to ten before starting the engine. If you have any specific questions then don't hesitate to call us email us. Please understand we do our best to describe, in detail, every vehicle we offer to the Ebay public. However, if you have any hesitation during the bidding period, please obtain a Buyer's Inspection PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR BID to satisfy yourself. After the auction ends, understand you are the legal winning bidder of this auction and agree to all our Terms and Conditions. Feel free to fly-in & drive this one home to momma! It is mechanically sound & ready to make a trip. Be sure and take a look at the book values on this vehicle (or any other we have for sale) before you bid. We stopped offering a built-in BuyIt Now option due to ebay's policy of letting anyone with an email address register a username. We had half a dozen de@dbe@t bidders in a row hit the BIN with no intention of paying. We do have a BuyIt Now price so give us a call if you're interested. Make sure you call us for more information on this vehicle. As always though, our reserve is THOUSANDS less than NADA value so bid early & bid often so you don't miss out! Don't be outbid at the last minute! With the eBay proxy bidding system all you have to do is enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay when you get ready to bid. Ebay will then automatically bid against other people for you up to that amount to help make sure you don't miss out. This saves you from getting sniped in the last few seconds of an auction by someone with a computer program. Don't try and bid in small increments at the last minute...go ahead & bid the full amount you're willing to pay then let eBay do the hard work! This vehicle is for sale locally so we must reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. However, once the reserve is met then we will let the auction run its course & sell to the high bidder. Now for the fine print... This covers our costs for a notary, Fedex charges, and other paperwork. Lousiana, Canadian and other foreign buyers must pay a $99 Documentation Fee to cover the extra Fedex and other expenses associated with doing international (and Cajun) paperwork. Click Here for our entire Terms and Conditions Winning bidder MUST contact us within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements for payment at that time. Balance due within 5 days of auction end. If you don't want to make the long trip home then we have a local retired Army Sergeant Major that can drive most vehicles to you. He charges $1/mile for cars, $1.25/mile for light trucks and SUVs, and $1.50/mile for heavy-duty trucks and RVs. His charge is non-negotiable and must be paid separately. If you prefer to fly in & drive home we'll be glad to pick you up at Jackson Internation Airport ("JAN"), the local Greyhound station, or the Amtrak Depot. This is how we make our living. All non-paying high bidders will be reported to Ebay, and negative feedback posted. We are not one of those sellers who is afraid to leave bad feedback where it is due even at the risk of receiving it ourselves in return(one of the major flaws in eBay's feedback system). You can look at our "feedback left for others" page for proof. PLEASE ONLY BID WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY. IF THE RESERVE IS NOT MET, WE MAY CONTACT THE HIGH BIDDER TO OFFER THE SECOND CHANCE OPTION.
