I have a 1989 Peugeot 405 DL for sale. This car was purchased new by my father in 1989 and it has been in the immediate family ever since. The car runs and drives just fine--I had been using it as my daily driver up until a few months ago. Being that my wife and I have very few expenses, we decided it was time for a new car. The car has about 160,000 miles, but the engine was completely rebuilt by my father two years ago. When I say rebuilt, I mean he spent the entire winter with the engine out of the car and on the floor of his garage. It was painstakingly and lovingly rebuilt. Although the car is a great running car, it is also a 20-year-old car, which means that it does have its quirks: --the paint is faded on the rood and the hood--the freon in the AC system is low; I stopped driving the car over the winter, so there was no reason to have it charged--the electric lock on the rear-driver's side door does not work; I just open it by hand--there is a dent in the rear quarter-panel; this happened 7 years ago and because it didn't effect the safety or reliability of the car, I never had it fixed Please let me know if you have any questions. This is a No Reserve auction. I had listed this about a month ago, but ended the auction earlier because a friend was interested in buying the car. Well, he ended up getting a full-time job just recently, so he's going to be buying a new car instead. At the request of one of the bidders, I took pictures of the engine bay and also of the surface rust present at one of the doors and inside door areas. It seems that all four doors have the same surface rust issue right around the center bolt. I also spent a minute or so taking a video recording of the car's engine. And while I was at it, I took the camera around and inside of the car.
